Registered Nurse Mission Statement Analysis
My mission is to provide a high quality of care to patients and their families in the community based on my strong commitment to practice, education, research, and collaboration. To acquire an RN position at OMH where I can continue to grow and enhance by knowledge base, taking every opportunity to learn and build upon the skills I have. I will strive to further my formal education, by obtaining a BSN and MSN degree within the next five years.
First and foremost, I need to effectively complete the ADN program at CCCC; then register for and pass the NCLEX to be able to practice as a registered nurse. In an effort to accomplish these objectives I have successfully completed 61 of the required 73 credit hours for the Associate Degree Nursing curriculum. In an effort to obtain a full time position as an RN at OMH, I have constructed an effective resume and cover letter, submitted several online applications to different units, and contacted the Human Resources Director informing her of my applications and OMH scholarship status. I have interviewed with the clinical coordinator and nurse manager on 3rd floor for an RN position. I have also introduced myself to the nurse managers on 2nd and 4th floor and provided them with a hard copy of my resume and cover letter. Strengths and opportunities for this objective are my determination, positive attitude, openness to experience on any unit, and a guaranteed job through my OMH Work Back Scholarship. Possible weaknesses or threats may be other nurses applying for the same positions, inability to successfully pass the ADN program or the NCLEX, or not being persistent enough in my follow-up with the nurse
