Regional Influence Research
Regional perspectives historically influence many different aspects of the community. Typically, they are used to express certain attitudes, concerns, and ideals to ultimately translate to the public. Therefore, these perspectives create visions and attitudes that lead to plenty of opinion. However, what many do not realize is that these perspectives are the core to the judgement that will make up future actions and or behaviors. Regional influence is most commonly analyzed and visible among international news. The arrival of Pope Francis to American soil is a story that created plenty of discussion. However, reality TV is defined as any factual program that is visual. The Pope`s arrival in communication studies can be categorized under reality TV because it can be proved and has been covered for several weeks with interviews, video clips and articles. Much television coverage emphasized how important was his arrival in New York. Amongst the multiple forms of coverage, visuals consisted of different events to prove the happiness that the public felt due to his arrival. Particularly, there was a child in a wheel chair that was specifically (or strategically) interviewed amongst the public. The interview was only showed in a format of clip that had been edited. The clip showed the little girls response to a question that was rather heart felt, she was crying to the reporter explaining how she was excited to see the Pope`s arrival because she was hoping for him to give her a miracle of walking again. Moments later, the network released a clip of the Pope walking into a crowd of people waiting for him, and he approached the child that was previously interviewed.
