Region 10
Northern Mindanao is the eco-tourism hub of the Philippines. The region is composed of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao Del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental.

Bukidnon

Bukidnon is a landlocked province, and is home to the Philippine Eagle. Most of its attractions are natural, such as the Kitanglad National Park, the waterfalls of Natigbasan, Gantungan and Dila, the springs of Luan-Luan and Matin-ao, and Napalit Lake. The Del Monte Pineapple Plantation in Bukidnon is one of the largest in East Asia. Churches include the Monastery of the Transfiguration, renowned for their Boys Choir.

Camiguin

Camiguin is considered as the Garden of Eden of the Philippines. This volcanic island is spectacularly beautiful, with its virgin jungle, exotic flowers, natural hot and cold springs, majestic waterfalls, and black and white sand beaches. The main historical attraction is Bonbon, where Mt. Vulcan Daan erupted in 1871, and destroyed the old Gui-ob Catholic Church and a cemetery. A walkway, with stops for the 14 stations of the Cross, leads to the peak of the old volcano. Natural attractions include Mt. Hibok-Hibok, the only remaining active volcano, Katibawasan and Tuasan Falls, Ardent and Tangub Hot Springs, and Santo Niño and Macao Cold Springs. White sand beaches include White Island, Mantigue Island and Guinsiliban Cove. Dive spots include Jicdup, Burias Shoal and Cabuan Point. Benoni Lagoon is a man-made lagoon.

Lanao Del Norte

Lanao del Norte is known for its abundant water resources. The city of Iligan has 20 waterfalls and the most famous of them is Maria Cristina Falls, whose height is up to 320 feet. Other famous waterfalls include the Tinago Falls, Limunsadan and Cathedral Falls. Popular beaches include Timoga, Samburon and Lacida. Another popular natural attraction is the Lidpa Subterranean River in Munai.

Misamis Occidental

Misamis Oriental has many delights that will please the local and foreign tourists. Man-made attractions include

Upon doing my own analysis I have discovered that your comments about average flight delay and percentage of delayed flights by RegionEx as compared to MDA are not quite correct, or at least do not tell the whole story. First, RegionEx’s % of delayed flights is 26.3% compared to 26.5% by MDA, a small outperformance but better nonetheless. Second, RegionEx’s average delays are significantly skewed by some large 100+ minute delays (refer to RegionEx’s scatter plot), making the 5 minute deficit in the mean a deceptive data. This deception is also reflected by the very large standard deviation observed in RegionEx’s descriptive statistics. A quick scan of the medians and modes actually shows that more often RegionEx is performing a bit better than MDA. A quick scan of the histograms indicate that while 57.5% of RegionEx flights are less than 10 minutes delayed, MDA flights are more than 10 minutes delayed 72% of the time, despite the 10 minute additional cushion it schedules for every flight as compared to RegionEx scheduled flight times (100 minutes for MDA, 90 minutes for RegionEx). This means that if comparing apples to apples and giving a 100 min allowance to RegionEx flights, 57.5% of RegionEx flights would register as being on time, a vast improvement over MDA. While the fact that 24% of RegionEx flights are more than 15 minutes delayed is indeed concerning, this data as an aggregate seems to be a representation of Simpson’s Paradox, where the aggregate result looks worse than the data broken down individually.…

Mt. Iriga or also known as Mt. Asog, a 1,470 meters high volcano is one of the major mountains in the Bicol Region. Lying near the City of Iriga in Camarines Sur, this inactive volcano offers a breath-taking view of the southern mountains including Mt Isarog on the northern side of the mountain, Mt. Mayon , Mt. Malinao and Mt. Masaraga on the southern side. And if the weather is clear, you can also see Catanduanes and the Lagonoy Gulf farther south. The well renowned Buhi Lake is also located at the foot of this mountain. Buhi Lake is home to the indigenous "Sinarapan" or "Tabios" the world’s smallest commercial fish. But because of the introduction of other varieties of fishes particularly the Tilapia, the Sinarapan currently faces treats of extinction. This in-active volcano, in ancient times was known as Mt. Asog after an Agta chieftain that ruled the region. The local people also call this volcano Mt. Sumagang which means "Mountain of the Rising Sun." On the Buhi side, Mt. Iriga appears scarred because of a cavernous gully, which is actually a collapsed crater left after a violent eruption in 1641. The trek to the mountain is not that strenuous and can be made in one day. But the trek can be exhausting once the sun is up since the trails are exposed. Be prepared for the tall grasses like that of Talamitam, Sembrano & Kalisungan. From the checkpoint at Brgy. Ilian, the trek to the campsite can take around 2 to 2½ hours, and from the campsite, it will only be about 20 to 30 minutes to one of the peaks of Asog. The view of the crater and the knife-edges are a feast to one’s eye. At night, the view of the city lights below is…
