In the last week, the overview of the term was taken with introduction to genre analysis.
However, according to assessment in the course. There are 4 compulsory assessments.
One of these tasks is writing academic case study, which includes several different aspects of issues to do it. For example, make interview with postgraduate student which has relative to my major and intensive reading about the topic. The second one of mandatory assessments is the presentation, which should I present my case study for 5min to 7min.

I feel excited and these assessments represent really challenging. I have passion to achieve this piece of work. On the other hand, I am afraid if I unable to manage the time and anxiety dominate me before the last few weeks

One of the main positives of the course is the theme of the course is interesting because it has relation to our situation as international students. In addition, the tasks cover all aspect of academic skills. But, according to the dates to submit assessments I think is not suitable to make it in one week.

The both summative assessments and formative assessments help to improve all aspects of academic skills. In the other word, all tasks require reading a lot of articles which have relation to the main theme. Also, I will try to collect new vocabulary to be able to comprehend text easily. Turning to the other point about dates to submit assessments, in my opinion, student will be under stress during that week and maybe has effect on the quality of his work.

My main aim is to manage the timetable as possible as and working on my weak points in all aspects of English skills. For illustrate, every day, I am going to listen BBC broadcast and try to take notes when I am listening, read at least 1 articles of the reading list on MINERVA to help me writing academic case study task.
My second aim is participating actively in language zone workshops, especially Conversation club and book chat, as possible

The assignment is intended to discuss a case I worked on whilst on my final placement and use an analytic stance to discuss the interaction and interventions used with the service user. In order to maintain confidentiality and anonymity of the service users in this case study I will be using pseudonyms for all people involved and mentioned in relation to this case. The assignment will demonstrate professional judgement, accountability of a social worker and the statutory requirements of protection and intervention when working with vulnerable adults. The case study will focus on my work with Sarah throughout my time on placement and assess my principal interventions as well as locating my work within the wider discourses around risk deploying both recovery and exchange models. It will also highlight the strengths and limitations within the process of recovery. Within this case study I will aim to describe and analyse the practice, theories and values that have emerged by carrying out this piece of work. The assignment will critically evaluate my practice with specific reference to the social work skills used. By reflecting on my practice I hope to demonstrate how I have considered issues such as power imbalances and social injustice and how this consideration has assisted me to work in an anti-oppressive, non-judgemental way with the service user involved. With reference to this particular case study I will also demonstrate to the reader the power imbalance that existed between the professionals in terms of their approach. This was clearly evident in relation to the social model approach versus the medical model approach. Drawing on my observation and the experience of working within an inter-professional team I will provide critical appraisal of the issues and barriers that existed. I will also compare, contrast and evaluate the medical and social model of mental health and mental disorder by referring to appropriate literature and…

The teacher can also determine more and work closely to implement formative and summative assessments on the students. For example of a formative it is mild and will focus on what the student learn from that day something like a five point exit ticket maybe a fill in black or bubble answers test (Mui SO, 2004) For an informative assessment it will involve maybe a teachers evaluation which are high in points like a end of the semester exam showing how much the student has obtain applied and can remember (Mui SO, 2004). It will help the teacher assess student in certain areas where they know where to help the student more. When the help or more practice is given it will help promote growth in the areas of academics.…

My former English professor would always say “find a way 101”, whenever a student found themselves struggling in her class. At first I did not understand why she was so rude to her students, this was until after I graduated high school when I realized I was wrong. She was not rude, she was not mean, she was preparing her students for college level English classes. Reflecting on my past encounter with the toughest teacher at my former high school, I can say I feel prepared for a college level class. Although I may have taken the most rigorous class in high school, that does not mean I am expected to pass without falling short. However, I am certain that I am ready for the challenges that my professor will assign me in the fall.…

The reflective practice and the use of a journal is an important tool for teachers to use to access their teaching practices and discover what is going well and areas that are in need of improvement. While in the moment we may not be able to see all angles of a situation, but when we take the time to sit down and write out thoughts, feelings, and actions that took place we can look back on a situation and see where and why things happened the way they did and how to maximize or minimize the potential of it reoccurring in the future.…

Each case can be used for the purposes of a written submission or as a written submission with presentation. Since time is always a problem, my preference is for one case to be a written submission using the case study format and another case to be a written submission with a presentation near the end of the course. Personal experience shows that only one or two cases can be accommodated in a one-semester course. Three cases are provided for you to…

According to my experience, the best way to achieve a high goal in learning English must be to practise it everyday and everytime you can. The reason is that this approach aids us to be familiar with the most popular language all over the world and to establish a habit of using English in the real life. If we study English for a long time, our language ability will strengthen, but if after that we don’t use it for a few month, i’m sure that our level will actually reduce over the time. Therefore setting up a specific schedule to learn English everyday may be very important for trainees. In detail, I often write down a note for the following day at every evening, which may includes the concrete time I start writing an essay and the time I have to finish it. If you have much time, it is very useful to study on some websites that provide you many interesting tools and methods to help you remove stress and practise a foreign language with the best quality but of course you may have to register and pay a fee for their services. Moreover, remember to practise linguistic skills such as writing, reading and listening frequently and learn new words to keep your English ability moving forward. Especially, go to some English clubs or classes to chat with the other to improve your speaking. It is essential for you to speak English fluently and coherently while interviewing for jobs or any other program.…
