TDA 3.4 LO 5 AC 5.1 5.2 Reflective account support children with behavioural needs
Complete a reflective account showing your own practice where you have done the following
Demonstrate ways of supporting children and young people to review their behaviour and the impact of this on others, themselves and their environment.
Include evidence of your actual practice using the past tense | When children fall out and say mean things to each other I always say to them well how would you feel about that if that’s what she said or did to you? I always get down to their level and use the appropriate body language and tone of voice. I ask them what they think they should do and I sanction them if necessary but most are just silly arguments that can be solved with an apology. If it was anything worse I would move their name and follow the behaviour policy. | Reflection | What do you think went well I think that children are developing their emotional and social behaviour and I believe this always helps them to solve arguments as they get older. | What do you think went not so well Sometimes children refuse to apologize which makes the other child feel sad, I then however use the behaviour system. s the other child feel sad, i 11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111 | What might you do differently in future or to improve the activity or adapt the activity and/or your practice for individual children’s needs or age-stage development My children are around the ages of 6/7 so they can play independently or in a group the arguments usually occur when there are lots of children playing a game for example football, so to prevent accusations such as cheating a teacher could define the rules and be a referee. | What have you learnt about your own practice and/or development needs I have learnt that I need to be firm and stick to the behaviour policy
