Reflection Paper: Zombie Apocalypse
Myths have been around in all parts of the world for thousands and thousands of years. All religions have their own myths on how the world was created and dealing with the evil spirits in the world and much more. Over the years there were different myths created making society believe in them along with others wanting the historical facts behind these myths. Making many of us develop a sense of fantasy with these myths. For example, the zombie apocalypse. The word Zombie comes from the Haitian and New Orleans voodoo origins. It refers to a human dead body which serves the undead, but what makes people so crazed over it? Is it the mysterious way the illness or “bite” first started? Why is it continually being spoken about on the websites and on the television? Many people have their own interpretation on this. Many of it deals with the preparedness for the end of the world. This ties into the entertainment of peoples minds since people are bored in the world wanting to create a new myth. Let me elaborate on this farther.
When it comes to the zombie type of apocalypse many people have created movies, video games, and books on it. This type of apocalypse have given some people the “adrenaline rush” in video games for they can use violence to kill these zombies. Other people search the facts in order to prepare for disasters in the world. It can be tough to get people thinking about emergency preparedness before disaster strikes. Hollywood created these zombie movies, video games, television series, and books to spark our attention and get people involved in preparing before a true natural disaster strikes. Because of these many movies and books in the world it made people question this zombie apocalypse. Will it really happen? How do you prepare for it? Many people in the world

Zombies have taken over. They dominate television shows, movies and anything else related to pop culture and have become increasingly more popular as the years progress. Whether it’s a mob of zombies sucking the brains out of a helpless victim on the big screen or zombies terrorizing families on television shows, it is hard to ignore the gory entourage. Fans of zombie lore generally fall into two categories: those who are attracted to the popularity of zombies and see them as purely amusement and those who not only are amused by zombies, but can also see the possibility of fiction becoming reality. The possibility of a zombie apocalypse is very real and terrifying; and most of the population simply wouldn’t survive. No one is safe. Now is the time to prepare and learn about the potential threat and to ensure--above all else-- survival.…

Are we as a nation are we verily ready for a zombie apocalypse? Can you ensure your families that you are safe in the event of this happening? Sadly no one really knows. However there are many reasons that do suggest that we in fact can survive the Zombie Apocalypse. There are even many sources that propose that it truly is possible like “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse” by Ali khan, a informational poster “How to survive zombies”, and even “Mayans Destroyed by Zombies” by Zombie Research Society”.…

One may freak out if she woke up in the morning being bitten by a random person with blood dripping from his mouth, black teeth, dragging a broken leg, scratching at her with yellowed finger nails. That is one way that could be the start of someone’s life in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Blood, guts, and disfigurement is basically what defines a zombie. Most of today’s generation has seen The Night of the Living Dead, The Walking Dead, Zombieland, Shaun of the Dead, and many more. One topic that is discussed most is “what would someone do?” The topic of zombies ending the world has become so popular there are underground bunkers, survival guides, and storage containers full of food. So, why do people believe there will be a zombie apocalypse? A few reasons why someone would believe a zombie apocalypse would happen are African rituals, Science, and movies.…

The day starts like every other day does. The sun shining, birds chirping, but something will not feel right. People start to limp instead of walk, they are no longer talking, just moaning and groaning, and everyone reeks of rotting flesh and meat. The only problem with zombies is they are not who they once were; they are now creatures who walk around trying to eat anything living. Plenty of movies are created on the idea that everyone either gets their brains eaten or turned into zombies. Yes, most people think that a zombie apocalypse may not ever happen, but there is still a chance an apocalypse can happen. Just because people die in the movies does not mean people cannot survive in real life. Knowing the zombie apocalypse may happen one day, the three most important rules to remember are being prepared, maintaining protection, and staying aware.…

    Mythology In Society

Mythology is very entertaining to some people, so it will never die. If a story was not entertaining, then it probably did not last. Like when you think about the stories of Zeus, they were all very entertaining because he was an incredible god who could harness the power of lightning. To many people that is very intriguing for them. Another great example is the mighty Minotaur. The story of the Minotaur kind of sounds like a horror movie today. A half man- half bull combination is pretty scary, and it got people’s attention very easily. It is the same today with horror movies, many horror movies have some sort of monster that is meant to scare the audience, but it also makes the audience want more. The thing about these myths is that they are meant to be real, and we experience new mythology all the time. A big myth that is part of modern day society is bigfoot. Some people think that bigfoot is not real and they think people that think bigfoot is real are crazy. It was the same back then, when some people were viewed as crazy for believing it. I actually know many people who believe bigfoot is real because of what happened at my friend's lake house in Michigan outside of Dowagiac. Apparently some of the people who live there have seen bigfoot and all have stories about how they have seen it. Apparently a bunch of news stations showed up after a big sighting and the place went into a frenzy. This is how myths start. This…

Zombies, do they exist? Can there be actual zombies roaming around on the streets, ready to make anyone and everyone who comes in sight a zombie? Well, Hollywood thinks so. The reason I'm basing this theory of 'can zombies be real' or the fact that zombies can one day roam amongst us (eventually destroying mankind), is because they are the biggest influence in our lives. Don't believe me? Then I guess the long list of zombie movies might help you change your perspective. Their ideology of assuring us into believing that the concept of 'zombies' or 'zombie apocalypse is real' is quite believable. And movies like Resident Evil, Dawn of the Dead, and 28 Days Later are perfect examples of such an event. Each of these movies has groups of people who are trying to get to a safe place, away from all these zombies. But there isn't any guide or rules that they can follow while they're on this road to freedom. It's just one step at a time (and some of them get eaten in the process as well). So, there should be a guide which tells them how to survive if such an apocalypse ever occurred. In order to get infected by a zombie, you need to be bitten, or bite one of them, although I have no idea why you would ever want to. The saliva and blood of a zombie have the potential to infect a person and eventually turn them, so keep your mouth shut if you're the stupid one using a chainsaw. To be honest I prefer a good old fashioned flamethrower to burn those zombies where they stand.…

Many people engage in community service project because they are either forced as a punishment or sentence. Others engage in community service out of Spirit of unselfishness, or a desire to connect with their communities by helping out. For me, it brings a sense of completeness. During the past few semester my team members and I have engage in different projects, Collecting food, clothes and donating to the homeless. In a way I’ve experience working the different organizations and helping the community. But with this particular project, it meant much more then collecting for the disadvantaged, It was about lending a hand and your heart to a community in need.. During my involvement in this fieldwork project I got the opportunity to offer my unconditional assistance for one day in a non-profit making community based project. The name of the project was Liberty City Construction, which is being undertaken by a Christian ministry organization whose aim is to improve the livelihood of low-income families through building affordable and decent houses at a 0% interest rate. There are a lot of books that have been written over what the different spiritual gifts are and how they are supposed to be used. There are quite a few verses in the New Testament that covers the spiritual gifts and how we are to use them. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 we are told, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the sane God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same spirit.” The Bible…

Throughout the years we dream of the future. We dream of career and setting goals to become someone. I think of my future every day and ways to make it better. It’s important to know what I want in my life, otherwise I won’t be happy. I am still figuring out who I am and what exactly do I want to dedicate my life to. But my biggest goal in life is to be happy with whatever I’ll be doing. Enjoy life and just simply reach my dreams. I want to get a career, I want to travel the world, I want to explore and understand myself, I want to educate myself as much as possible and eventually I want a family of course. Right now I’m still growing and exploring life, making mistakes and taking chances. I’m trying to find myself in the right place, where I belong. For one thing I am sure of is that I want to be independent. That is why I want to get an education so I could have everything I want. I want to go to college and feel that I am progressing and growing as a human. I try different fields of education to see what will interest me the most. I have good math skills and I do a lot of thinking. I think all the time. I also like drawing, and I draw since I was little. I like doing makeup for others and I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer before. And since all of those things are so different, I’m not sure which way I want to go in life. As an option I’m thinking to go into business field or management because I believe there are many opportunities in this field. I will always find the job if I need to. But I wouldn’t give up other things that I like to do. While going to college and deciding who I want to become as a specialist, I am planning to go to the beauty school also. I want to take courses for makeup artistry. I always do makeup for all of my friends. And I think it would be great to have a hobby that brings me money. So while I’ll be studying at college I would be working somewhere by doing makeup for others so it benefits me in both ways. After two years…
