Reflection On Orientation Experience
Following the beginning shift sets, provide feedback about your orientation experience:
My orientation experience was pleasant. I felt safe on the unit. I introduced myself each time I run into someone new and everyone has been supportive and welcoming. My preceptor has done an excellent job is helping me prioritize my goals while focusing on possible day to day achievements, which has been less overwhelming than I anticipated. I felt heard and respected; I was able to voice my suggestions and thinking process towards overall patient care. I felt part of the team.

I benefited from being prepared. I had read common surgeries and medications used at the unit as well as did the Alaris IV Pump maintenance course on CCRS and went to the NERC to

    Daniel Orozco’s short story “Orientation” is a comedic type of piece written to make you feel like you’re the main character being led through this maze of rules and cubicles and employees, as well as their lives all at once. It’s not really clear who is the narrator in this story, but what is clear is that Orozco chose to tell the story through the eyes of the reader.
