Reflection On Feed My Staving Children
There is an around institution of Feed My Starving Children in Mesa and that’s where we accomplished our group project. We did our project at 9am on Oct 26. Roy, Matt, and me drove to Feed My Staving Children separately and Justin picked up Francisco on campus so we can make it on time. What we do is packing nutrition meals that helped run orphanages schools and clinic across the world. There are four ingredients making up one bag of food, including rice, dried vegetables, a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals. The volunteer work is hand-packing these ingredients into bags and weighing, sealing and boxing the bags. We have five members in our group so we make a clear division of labor. Roy was responsible for pouring rice

These documented or stated values are intended to shape the culture of the organization, and should also serve as a framework for the development of corporate strategy and the development of short and long-term goals. The climate of the organization can result in an unspoken culture which can be in alignment or contrary to the stated intent. The external environmental factors such as market competitors, the state of the economy, new technology and political environment also impact an organizations culture. Organizational culture impacts all facets of an organization and ultimately can impact the ability to accomplish their mission. This paper will examine Feed the Children's current culture, impacts of the identified culture, and the rites and rituals contributing to the overall state of Feed the Children.…

Again, communication is key. If we do not here from a member by Wednesday 6pm on their contributions each week, we divvy up the sections that need a volunteer. A time line and due dates should be set for each task. If someone has misses a deadline then a message is posted and we finalize the missing assignment. Also, a message is posted to professor Rita Solomon-Moore, as she should be our corporate boss and he needs to know when a member is slacking so credit is assigned appropriately.…

At the start of the social action, as a group we sat down and 3 people of the 5 (at the time) contributed to the discussion of ideas. I created a checklist for the group and jobs were allocated to each member. 4 out of the 6 dot points in the checklist were actually completed. I specifically had the job of asking the library for permission to hold the donation bin, after this failed I then asked student services at Seaford Secondary College with one other student. I allocated jobs for the group report, a paragraph for each person. I…

The CARE packages contained basic needs such as toothpaste and shampoo, and special items like nail polish and makeup. After we packaged everything, we were able to sort out clothing and cans that were going to be distributed the next day. Working behind the scenes and helping the workers prepare was very rewarding.…

Communities getting involved in helping each other would overcome many of the obstacles they are facing. Talking to local organizations, churches, and local officials would benefit in implementing a program that brings people together optimizing the use of local fresh food resources to diminish the struggles they face. This variety of people providing additional ideas and support for a program to help out underprivileged individuals and families facilitate their nutritional needs makes the possibilities endless. Volunteers from local organizations and churches could provide creative assistance from experience in their diverse backgrounds. Using larger programs as an example such as “Let’s Move,” can show rural citizens what this program is accomplishing by solving similar issues in other areas of the United States. This example can supply a small community in West Virginia with ideas and even financial support from the Healthy Food Financing Initiative. The Healthy Food Financing Initiative provides funding to help supply underserved communities with fresh food (Let’s Move, n.d.). Since Let’s Move focuses on working together and self-reliance, it could only benefit a rural community to ask for funding on starting a program that involves communal gardening and hunting wild game to promote self-sufficiency. There are other options for funding such as local businesses,…

My children and I volunteered to help set up the facility for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner. The day before Thanksgiving we drove to downtown Atlanta to the Georgia World Congress and Convention Center. We were amazed by the number of volunteers already there. There were people from all walks of life, executives, athletes, clergy, housewives and fathers, and even some people who were clearly in need themselves.…

In every project there will be pros and cons. There were a couple of instances I felt I should have handle differently by using different approaches in processing uneventful circumstances. For example, the recruitment of volunteers should have been handled by selecting knowledgeable volunteers that cared about supporting academic growth and the love of reading to young children specifically three to five years of age. I asked for volunteers within the church bulletin without any instructions on time frames and the amount of Sundays needed for support. The bulletin read “Shared Reading volunteers needed every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15p.m. Activities include but not limited to group reading, fluency examples, language development…

It was Saturday morning and everyone was so excited about the outreach activity. As we gathered, everybody went to their selected jeepneys as we go to our destination. I was very excited as I stepped down the jeep with all the things that we needed for the activity. We need to cross at the bridge for us to go to loob, Gainza . I was very afraid as I stepped on the bridge. It feels like I’m going to fall into the water, but I still try to overcome my fear. As we go by, there are tricycle that’s waiting for us. I saw children who are taking a bath, maybe because there are too excited about the activities at the same time for the feeding program. Finally, we already arrived at our destination. I’m so overwhelmed because the people there are so generous. They help us carry out those things that we bought for the activities. We went to our place to prepare the food for the children. I saw several children sitting on the branches. I feel pity on them because they are too thin; in short some of them are malnourished. Our tribe prepared the ingredients for macaroni soup. Some of us chopped all the ingredients that need to be cut and some of us prepared the material to be used in cooking. It’s kind an awkward because don’t know where to start and how to approach them, but I still try my best. As I look for the other tribes to take some pictures, there are a lot of children almost a hundred pluses and above and I was shocked. I take pictures of them, I feel so happy every time I saw children who are smiling. There are very kind because they keep on participating and listening to their kuya’s and ate’s. I really love kids, so I also help the tutorial committee. I teach them on how to read and write, and there I realized that some of them don’t really know how to write and read. It’s not that easy to manipulate or control those kids for some of them are 5 years old below. Some are naughty and some of them are like they are just out of this world. I also saw those parents whose…
