Reflection
‘Reflection is an exploration and an explanation of events’(Queen Margaret University 2013:1). It is an essential part of our study in this semester. Many experts indicated that study from feedback is an effective way to improve ourselves. OpenLearn, (2015) On the one hand, I received many feedbacks from my teachers. Theses feedbacks were about the PDP essay, which I got an unsatisfied grade. Writing references is the biggest problem for me because I often make mistakes of the format of Harvard referencing. For example, I often forgot to put the citation in the body part. In addition, the teacher also pointed that there were many grammar mistakes in my assignments. On the other hand, I also received informal feedback from the group presentation, which means teacher pointed many things I can improve more than just mistakes and these were not counted towards my final grades. Although I was nervous in front of the public during my presentation. My teacher said my pronunciation is very good, which improve my confidence to some extent.
These feedbacks have a benefit impact on my study. Learning how to use reference is a very important part for the rest of my study. It gave me a warning to do things carefully. Not only does it benefit my writing ability, but also influence my learning attitude. Furthermore, the mistakes on my essay also showed my carelessness. I did not spend enough time go through my work before I submitted it. I need to be more hard-working in the future.

Appendix1 safaashaaban, (2011) We use the Gibbs Reflective Cycle to proceed out group presentation. The first part called Description. When we got this task, teacher divided us into several groups and then we began to prepare the group presentation. Firstly, we distributed the relative task to each group member. Although my assigned part was a little bit difficult for me, I did my best to finish it because I didn’t want to slow my group down. In the group meetings, I noticed that everyone in the group was hard-working and did a good job. In addition, we practice many times before the final presentation. One thing impressed me a lot is that when we practiced our presentation one by one, Hasan, who is very good at presentation give me some valuable advices. Firstly, he said I need to speak louder and become more confident. Secondly, he said I need to try my best to be familiar, but not remember all the content which I have to present in front the examiner. I am still remember Hasan’s advice. The feedbacks from partners also helped me a lot. Finally, we did a good job in presentation. The teacher also pointed something that we can do better. For instance, we did not show all resources about our assignment to the examiner. In the past, we just think it is not as necessary as showing the result. As a result, the feedback from our teacher made me realized that the real evidence was important as well. It will make our result more credible. In the next assignment, I will remember these feedbacks and try my best to correct my shortcomings. Appendix2

ENG101 has taught me the importance of using references and how using the proper writing guidelines can improve someone’s writings. Using references establishes that the thoughts and information that you are providing is accurate and true. When using the proper writing guidelines it helps one put their thoughts into proper order and make sense of what is being said. Using the guidelines also assists in making the writing process not so daunting, by breaking it up into smaller pieces. My writing goals for my next writing course would be to improve on the skills that I have gained while taking this course. I will use more references and the writing guidelines to make my writing the best it can be and not such a daunting task. I need to improve on using better grammar and spelling. I forget where to use commas a lot of the time. Overall, I feel that I did well in this course and learned some valuable tools to take with me to assist in other courses that I will take, as well as my working environment.…

The presentation was a health campaign that I chose to do on kidney disease. My initial idea was to develop materials to communicate relevant context. The underpinning approach taken for my learning event relates to Kolb’s experimental learning cycle. This concrete experience was central to the design of the session and there was also an opportunity for the group to reflect on and share thoughts about their experience. (Reflective observation). This reflection was observed from my peer evaluation form.…

To enable and assess learning it is important to understand how individuals learn. Individuals learn in different ways and at different speeds. As a teacher it is important to understand the theories of how and why people learn so that the individual needs of the learner are addressed. Learning theories have been more influential since the early 1990’s. (Avis, 2010)…

The learning journey undertaken by each learner is different as everyone has different learning needs, speeds and styles that can be influenced by personality types, this means it is vital to plan differentiated learning outcomes to meet the needs of higher level learners, ensuring they are not held back, this has to be done while making sure slower learners are not left behind. Differentiated learning is crucial in order to ensure ‘all’ learners successfully complete learning outcomes and reach their full potential. To achieve this I will continually assess progress, gain and give feedback and provide extra support where necessary.…

Throughout this semester I have received a lot of input and criticism on my essays from my TA, my professor and fellow students. This semester I was fortunate to receive quick, fairly reliable, built in feedback. From the feedback that I have received by taking this class I believe that I have become a better writer as it was beneficial for the most part. Feedback that I received from my fellow students was occasionally helpful. It typically varied from week to week. One week I would write a paper and get a ton of markings and criticism on it which was helpful because I was able to see what I did wrong and I would rarely have to get it proof read another time. Other times I would turn in a paper and it would come back with few markings and comments. This felt almost like a waste of time because I knew that I had more mistakes that I did not catch earlier. Because of this I would have to go out of my way and someone else would have to go out of their way to get it proof read again, or I would risk handing in the good copy with mistakes. One thing that I appreciated from peer evaluation days was that was able to see what worked in my paper, what did not and what I need to improve on.…

Socialization refers to the general process of acquiring culture. You were cultured to your specific culture by your parents and the other people who raised you. On the macro scale, social structure is the system of socioeconomic stratification, social institutions, or other patterned relations between large social groups. On the meso scale, it is the structure of social network ties between individuals or organizations. These two terms are the general concepts to, which I will be explaining the type of person I have become in my culture throughout growing up based on the twenty ideas I have used to explain myself.…

This 2 hour online workshop is an indication of this standard because of the frontloading and research that went into its creation. I incorporated what I knew of the learners into the initial design phases of the module. Taking multiple learning styles and multiple intelligences into consideration helped me to create targeted activities, assignments, and resources to reach a broader pool of participants. After all, “to teach effectively, you’ve got to know how people learn and in particular you’ve got to know how they think.” (Ormrod, 2010)…
