THE WIRE ROPE
ABSTRACT
This case study is about the human behavior of an employee between Red Wire Corporation (RWC) and Green Rope Inc. (GRI). They are both Wire Rope industry that made them competitors for decades. This case will help us to learn how to handle critical situations and study their behaviors.

This case shows how the employee to be a loyal and responsible to his current employer. Red Wire Corporation has produced wire rope under the “Red Wire” brand for more than forty years and has more than 60% share of the wire rope market in the Philippines. Its quality and reputation as a reliable, durable and safe wire

It consists of several strands of metal wire laid (twisted) into a helix. The term “cable” is often used interchangeably with “wire rope”, but narrower senses exist in which “wire rope” refers to diameter larger than 3/8 inch (9.52mm) whereas sizes smaller than this are designated cable or cords. Initially today steel is the main material used for wire ropes.

Historically wire rope evolved from wrought iron chains, which had record of mechanical failure. While flaws in chain links or solid steel bars can lead to castrophic failure, flaws in the wires making up a steel cable are less critical load. Friction between the individual wires and strands, as a consequence of their tist, further compensates for any

are producing wire rope in the Philippines. I’ve been working of Red Wire Corp (RWC) as a financial analyst for five years. As financial analyst of RWC, I had an oppurtunity to join a stock-taking teams and as I was walked through the plant, the Factory Superintendent showed me the critical process and specially machine that was internally developed by the company. This machine and process makes the Red Wire rope safe to use and accounts for the diffrence in quality and price of the RWC product. After a few months from stock-take, decided to resigned and worked abroad for two years. Upon my return, I applied and was hired by the Green Rope Inc. (GRI) as its Finance Manager. I like the job and pays very well. Later, I learned that GRI still has the same quality problem and facing a number of law suits due to some failure of the wire rope which have caused a number of casualties in various construction sites. My responsibilities to my former employer is to keep th confidential clause that I signed and saw all the critical process and specially designed that was internally developed by the company. When it comes to the point that GRI Board believes that they cannot resolve the quality problems soon will have be close the company. I can help help but not the knowledgeable I’ve learned of my former employer. Inspite to help to other alternative methods since RWC is always been good to me and also they keep confidential to secure their own

What type of install is the cable going into? Is everything in a fixed position? If you have an install where items are moved around without being disconnected, using highly flexible cable is necessary. Cables in these scenarios need to be flexible to meet those demands of mobility, and also for the life of the wire so that it does not crack, break, fray or short. We had a job at a university where we moved flat panels on a track system to create different screen sizes, and for that we had to make sure the cable would meet the demand.…

However he has not made up his mind with what to do with Reid and his future in the company. Jackson takes the necessary steps and evaluates the situation, covering all bases, before coming to a decision or making judgments. Jackson finds himself faced with a dilemma. Resistance is the force that slows down the flow of electrons; this can be due to electrons colliding. The total length of the wires will affect the amount of resistance. The longer the wire, the more resistance that there will be. This is also true for thickness of wire; the thinner the wire is the more resistance.…

In this investigation, I will set up a simple circuit to be able to read the voltage and current when the length of wire changes, so I then can work out the resistance. I will be using constantan wire starting of with 1m length and then decreasing it by 0.10m intervals down to 0.20m long. I will not go above 1m or below 0.20m because it may be too long that they resist so much current that the wire burns, or the length of the wire is so small that it doesn't resist any current at all. The length of the wire will be changed by moving the crocodile clip across the wire on a ruler. The independent variable will be the length of the wire because that is what I will be changing. The dependant variable will be the resistance because it will change only due to the length of wire.…
