The Little Red Hen
Parts (5): Narrator Hen Pig Duck Cat
NARRATOR
Once upon a time, a pig, a duck, a cat and a little red hen all lived together in a cosy little barn on a pretty nice hill.
All day long, the pig wallowed in his disgusting mud. The duck paddled in her puddle gleefully. The cat slept happily in the sun.
They left all the work of the barn for the little red hen to do. She had to pick up all the leftover food from the pig, clear up all the feathers and fur that the duck and cat shed.
One day, as the little red hen was scratching about in the yard digging for a nice juicy beetle for her dinner, she came upon a grain of corn. It gave her an idea.
HEN: Who will plant this grain of corn?
NARRATOR: She asked of the pig, the duck, and the cat.

CAT: Not I, by my chinney chin chin.
NARRATOR: Said the Cat. So she did it herself. Finally the corn was cut and ready to be ground into flour.
HEN: Who will take the corn to the mill?
NARRATOR: She asked of the pig, the duck, and the cat.
PIG: Maybe next summer.
NARRATOR: Said the pig.
DUCK: Not I.
NARRATOR: Said the duck.
CAT: Maybe after I have learnt how to fly.
NARRATOR: Said the cat.
Hen: Then I shall go right this moment while the glorious sun is up in the sky.
NARRATOR: And she did! Soon a little sack of fine flour came back from the mill.
HEN: Who will knead the flour?
NARRATOR: She asked of the pig, the duck, and the cat.
PIG: Guess it won’t be me.
NARRATOR: Said the pig.
DUCK: I’m busy now, come back later.
NARRATOR: Said the duck.
CAT: I need to tend to my kittens.
NARRATOR: Said the cat.
HEN: Then I shall knead it myself.
NARRATOR: And she did.
HEN: Who will send it to the baker to make it into bread?
NARRATOR: She asked of the pig, the duck, and the cat.
DUCK: Quack, not me.
NARRATOR: Said the duck.
CAT: Meow, not

Did you know that pigs are the 3rd smartest animal alongside dolphins and chimpanzees? The story of The Three Little pigs is about three pigs who were set off on their own into the world. All three build their homes one by one. They encounter a wolf who tries to capture each pig individually. The first two pigs built separate homes that were not very stable, so the wolf destroyed the homes and eats those pigs.
