During my junior year of high school, I somewhat became aware of Women's Right Issue. I have made an effort to evaluate majority of the culture standard that I had previously taken in as it just being “the untaught order of items.” One of the directions that I took to enlarge my knowledge of the female soul involved in women’s creative writing. That is one reason why I spent some time of my life crying, laughing, feeling puzzled, and often, feeling livid and worried. It all started when I decided to pick up a book called “The Women’s Room” and read the book.…
On 10/10/17, Room 370 who is a 65-year-old male was admitted into the hospital because his suprapubic catheter came out. He was admitted in the emergency department to have his catheter replaced. His brother says he checks on him often, and he has been doing good for the last few months. According to his brother, there has been no change to his medical condition. However, labs were done, which revealed Hypernatremia and an increased in blood urea nitrogen (BUN). Based on these results, Room 370 is dehydrated. His brother said he has not had any diarrhea or excessive sweating. Room 370 cannot communicate anything beyond an occasional yes or no. Room 370 finished a course of Levaquin for what appears to be a urinary tract infection (UTI). The plan is to start him on Zosyn as soon as possible. The order for Zosyn will be effective until the culture is negative.…

The artist I had chosen for my PowerPoint presentation was Georgia O’Keeffe. The first example of her work is Easter Sunrise was made in 1953 and is an oil on canvas painting. Easter Sunrise depicts a mountain side and shining from the corner of the mountain is a brilliant white cross. As far as the technical excellence of this painting, the colors are varying degrees of browns, gold and white. Georgia O’Keeffe uses form really well.…
Bedside shift report provides better communication, patient and nurse satisfaction, accountability of nurses and an overview assessment of their patient which contributes to better patient care. Below are the following reasons on how:…
The patient is a 36 year old male who came to the hospital because of an episode of hematemesis. The patient stated that for the past few days he had had anorexia and epigastric pain, which was worse if he tried to eat. An NG tube was placed and drained a small amount of bright red blood, as well as some coffee-ground material. Hemoccult test showed dark, tarry stool and positive for occult blood.…

The purpose of the policy is to provide an interactive dialogue that allows for up-to-date information on the patient’s care. The policy is referenced to the Joint Commission-mandated focus on improving patient safety through effective caregiver communication. According to the Joint Commission, as estimated 80% of serious medical errors are attributable to miscommunication between caregivers when transferring responsibly for patients (Wakefield, Ragan, Brandt & Tregnago, 2012). Shift report happens two, three, or more times in a day, but nurses receive little formal training in this vital responsibility. Nurses may be found legally liable for failing to report necessary information during handoffs (Riesenberg, Leitzsch, & Cunningham, 2010). Therefore, it is imperative for a handoff procedure incorporate an effective way to communicate in order to provide safe patient care.…
I conducted my observation in the reading room of McCain Library, also known as the nap room by many Agnes Scott students. The reading room is a long rectangular space that is very open and has one wall covered in ceiling to floor windows. There are a few paintings and a large fireplace, with a big sofa right in front of it, at the end of the room. The majority of the couches are faced directly towards the windows, where students can people watch while studying. The rest of the room is decorated with several chairs and matching ottomans. There are a few end tables with lamps and coffee cups and students’ keys sitting on top of them. There are also two large dining room tables with four chairs around them, but no one seems to be sitting at the table.…
For as yet scientifically unknown reasons, times occur when an unsuspecting person can just burst into flames and be incinerated. This is referred to in the scientific world as Spontaneous Human Combustion or SHC. There are many documented cases throughout history.…
This has caused a line of issues including one being adding more pressure to the ‘Bed Crisis’. In 1955 there was 15,000 beds available for service, in 2012, a re-evaluation was done and beds have dropped at least 40% being about 22,300 beds available across the United Kingdom. Before the cuts, over the past 10 to 15 year’s of questions have been raised repeatedly about whether a minimum safe level of beds was reached (Bhugra 2013; cited through the kings fund 2015). When beds become unavailable to a patient, they usually get transferred to a facility outside their area, most likely to a private hospital. An Experimental research developed by the care quality commission and health and social care information centre discovering that in the years between 2012 and 2013, 4.4 percent and 4.9 percent were found to have been admitted to out of area from their homes (Care Quality Commission, 2015). Supporting this research…

According to Piaget Cognitive Development Theory (Berk, 2003, p.133), this child is in the preoperational stage (2-7 years), and he behaves normally. When the father left he was upset. His mother asked him to sit still in one of the chairs. He was lying in an arm chair, moving his legs up and down. Then he put his feet on the armrest of the chair next to him, where his sister was sitting. He repeated this behavior several times in attempt to hit his sister. That made his mother tell him off. However, he still didn't respond. Then he put his head on the seat and lifted his feet on the back of the chair, and he started to stomp his feet. He then tried to get down to the floor head first. His mother told him to stop, but he didn't, so she sent one of his elder sisters to pick him up and put him in the chair in the right way. He repeated the same behavior and again his mother failed to make him stop, so she sent the other sister to pick him up. This time his mother warned him not to repeat that, so he stayed in his chair for a few minutes without doing anything. As we noticed he didn't respond to her in the first time, but later when she warned him he responded by behaving for a few minutes only. Children at this age cannot stay for a long time without moving or doing something. Parents and/or care givers can keep them busy by telling stories, playing with them or maybe by providing any kind of toys to assure that they are not bored. When they do not have any thing to do they will try to attract the adults' attention by doing such…
I wouldn’t say I’m a negative person, but I found three things to banish from this world surprisingly easy. Room 101 is designed to house the things that you hate but perhaps others love. I could have put a long list of things in it such as marmite and the many mouthfuls I have later regretted making with this substance involved. But nothing gets me more annoyed than the following three things, and by the end I hope you can agree with me.…
