A. Course Overview
This course has several learning objectives related to the specific content of the course, as well as providing opportunities for students to hone critical thinking skills, demonstrate their writing ability, enhance presentation skills, and demonstrate their research skills.
Upon completion of the course, students will develop a thorough understanding of the essential elements of human resource planning processes in organizations. Students will develop an understanding of the strategic human resource planning process and its support of organizational strategies. They will also be able to identify business strategies, determine appropriate human resource strategies,

assess human resource assets and plan the future human resource requirements of organizations.
This course highlights and evaluates the importance of the role of human resources as a strategic business partner.
B. Course Objectives:
Students will:
1. Be able to articulate the key themes and concepts in strategic human resource planning,
2. Be able to understand the importance of congruence of HR strategy and overall organizational strategy (vertical congruence),
3. Be able to understand the importance of congruence of various HR strategies, for example, compensation, recruitment, and training (horizontal congruence),
