Recognizing The Atonement Research Paper
A stronger faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement is something we can and should always strive for. As our faith increases our love, admiration, and appreciation for Christ will also increase. These feelings, if we allow them, will change us. Our capacity to see, succor, serve our brothers and sisters will be intensified.

He went to Gethsemane and Golgotha out of a sense of supreme service; not because it would meet his needs. He fulfilled all things by giving all in that remarkable act of service”.

Throughout the Bible, Jesus makes it clear that we are to be Christ-like and our attitudes should be the same as his. Jesus freely put his rights aside, in order to become a human, to serve the needs of mankind. Which made him submissive to death. However, while he was on the cross, Jesus Christ’s humility is exemplified because he bore an agonizing death that consisted of humiliation, in order to provide our requirements.…

After reading “The Not So Great Divide”, I came to the conclusion that doubt can lead to growth in faith development. Steve Wilkins author of “The Not So Great Divide” helped me realize that going to college and studying some of the subjects that you will be studying might have you doubting your belief in Christ he even writes “Like many others during their college years I went through stretches when I wondered weather my college and seminary were guilty of false advertising when they called themselves Christian. There were also times when my classes made me wonder wether I even wanted to remain a Christian.” The doubt that the professors at his university put in his mind led him to a “hefty dose of repentance and…

Our society can increase faith by giving people something to have faith in and hope for. If our society can can have such a strong faith in something as strong as the Puritans did, it would unite our nation as one. We would benefit from this because it would unify us together and create a common interest among people. It would help give people direction in their life and help them make better decisions. Faith would also give people hope in their life and motivate them to do better. I think faith is important in any society or individual person to give them the will to live life to its fullest and get the best from it. Personally, I would benefit from faith because it will better motivate me and give me something to work for. I also am unsure of my path in this world but faith could help me find my place in the world and discover myself. Faith could also help if I am having a hard time in life or with something it can give me hope and reassurance of how great life can be. I think faith is an important in any society and can change people’s perspective on…

While the title of Ian McEwan’s novel is Atonement, atonement itself can not be the driving theme of this work. The fact that atonement is ever achieved or even sought out by Briony can be greatly debated. This is because of the effects abandonment, the true theme, has on her. Abandonment not only plays a driving role in Briony’s character but also greatly impacts every character in the novel. Although abandonment manifests itself in many different outlets depending on the character, it is the central theme behind all of the stories conflicts.…
