NJROTC is not only to teach us about the navy but is allowing us to become great leaders in the future. In this program I have learn three things: Honor, Courage, and Commitment. The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens. This mission travels beyond the classroom and into the everyday aspects of my life. My involvement in the teaching and learning of JROTC has helped me prepare for college and career challenges because it reinforced my need to grow educationally through proper communication and the mentorship of my instructors along the way. I have also gained valuable leadership lessons that lay the foundation for important skills that better me as a citizen of the United States.…
When I became a part of one of the Deer Park JROTC Cadets, I’ve never knew I would come to find happiness and enjoyment in the three years I spent growing with the other cadets. In the first year when I joined JROTC was unpredictable for me because I went from playing softball throughout my whole entire childhood into my freshman year to marching in formation as a JROTC cadet. The life lessons I learned from Chief Underwood and First Sergeant Harmon is always give my best of ability into my school work, extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs for a successful career. Because of these basic opportunities I’ve received in high school, I’ am more prepared for many obstacles in the real world compared to other kids that can’t go to school…
Some students are affected by JROTC because they see most of the students that take the class are letting themselves do better and are not letting people hold them back. They are working hard to achieve great things in life. This ties in how JROTC affects different classrooms. Most people in JROTC in different classes follows the rules of the class that they go into be cause that is what they are taught in JROTC. Instructors of JROTC tell us that high school is supposed to prepare us for the real-world and that is what everyone is going to have to be prepared for if they are or not. Instructors of JROTC has an essay for each term that we are supposed to do. Each essay’s due date is about a month long, so that we have more than enough time to do them. We also have exams on the classes JROTC teaches, one for each term. The instructors give us that much time to make sure everyone does their essays. A lot of students have came back to the class because they would say that when they left, their writing skills had become better and that they wish that they’d take this class during their freshman…
You can earn ribbons and medals for different things you have done in the program like raiders, drill, color guard and many other things. At the end of the year the JROTC program has an award ceremony for all the cadets and they get awarded for all they have done in the program and some people get lettered and some get just medals and a ribbon or they get an collage scholarship. All the cadets either make big achievements or don’t achieve anything at all because they didn’t put in any effort to have an achievement. The JROTC program is great and it helps kids achieve academic excellence so they can get into a good collage. There has been cadets who had gone to collage for free because of the JROTC program and it was because of their academic excellence and how bad they wanted to go to collage. JROTC also helps cadets get into the military if they want, the cadets who want to go into the military will go in a rank or two higher than the rest of the young men and women who are going in just after high school. JROTC will help you in your everyday life like organizing or keeping a portfolio handy when you go to a job interview. JROTC is the best…
People who aren’t in Jrotc tend to think that they discipline you to be better than other citizens and that you will become a soldier for the military. Those people think you automatically know what to do in situations or that you were going to be in it no matter what, but these people are sometimes wrong and I will provide information on my experience in Jrotc. My role in Jrotc improved my skills in service to other. Lessons I learned from and how it helped me prepare to help others…
First of many reasons why others focus on joining the Marines, is that some are looking for that superior outcome on life serving for your country. Many others join because they find their selves confused about their feature and seeing what the Marines or any other branch can offer to them. “Ambitious, smart and motivated young men and women who want to be part of a prestigious organization are drawn to the Marine Corps ' reputation as America 's most elite fighting force.”(“Why the Marines?” 2010: 1). With joining this military branch, there are always wonderful benefits, including medical, dental, educational, and finical benefits that are attached to you once you sign up and make it through boot camp. The best way for all this to be explained is by Lifeasamarine “No matter the reason for their interest, the Marine Corps seeks out America 's best: young people who already have a solid foundation of character, as established by parenting or mentorship.” (“Why the Marines?” 2010:1)…
There are very many education opportunities that they might want to take part in. Many education chances are also given to service members that are currently serving. Along with job conveniences that will fit many of their dream careers perfectly. The health care our country gives our Veterans the chance to have is super important. It is crucial that we make the Veterans feel as welcome as possible once they’re back. I am happy to be a part of our wonderful country, because we support the ones who put their lives in danger for our…

Although JROTC is a military based program there is never any military obligation. In the program, the focus is on become a better leader, a better comrade, and overall a better person. JROTC taught me that being a leader isn’t just about ordering people around, it’s about sharing their hardships and lifting more of the burden so you can help them move forward. It taught me that it isn’t always enough to just be in a program, you have to immerse yourself into it. I also learned how…
J.R.O.T.C (Jr. Reserve Officer Training Course) was a credit to my self confidence in high school. I tend to focus solely on my academics but when taking J.R.O.T.C grades only count for partially your overall average. I expanded my horizon physically, mentally, and emotionally and was able to grow as a student. I push past many mental barriers and was able to see my progress traveled with me. Many failed obstacle courses and conferences allowed me to take position on the battalion in contributed more to the overall program. As the s-1 officer, I was responsible for many things include: keeping accurate records, planning field trips, planning objective meetings, passing out emails, and contacting local battalion for conference. I had to learn…
