Beethoven wrote only one opera it included characterized arias and a quartet written in a form canon and a powerful chorus this opera was all about drama. 2. How long did it take Rossini to write The Barber of Seville? He wrote Il barbiere di seviglia in 13 days only.

3. After retiring in Paris, what became Rossini’s favorite hobby/passion? After retirement his passion and hobby was for cooking and many famous recipes were named after him and still till today served in some restaurants. 4. What was the Risorgimento movement?

It is the movement to get rid of the foreign occupation in Italy and get it untied. 5. How do the ideals of this movement present themselves in Verdi’s operas? Verdi’s operas about the movement were real stories of what’s going on so the ideals of this movement and his own nationalistic sympathies were the subject matter or story of his operas and that’s how it presented the ideals of this movement that shined threw his operas and he always developed his musical and dramatic style to express his subject matter.6. What sets Verdi’s heroines apart from other characters? Verdi’s heroines was set apart from other characters because it was faced by a moral dilemma, such as Regoletto , the court jester who was duped into betraying his own daughter. 7. He abandoned the recit/ aria distinction because he wrote his own poems he didn’t use libretto, his poems was short with no rhymes so his asymmetrical verses corresponded to the asymmetrical musical phrases. 10. What is the Gesamtkunstwerk?
