Reaction Paper about the Fourth SONA of Pres. Noynoy Aquino III

Last July 22, 2013, President Noynoy Aquino III addressed his fourth State of the Nation Address that is considered as the longest SONA of Pres. Noynoy. I am one of the Pilipinos who praised his addressed. It was very candid State of the Nation Addressed; the president confronted the major issues, the gains of the last three years and showed us where we will be three years from now. The fourth State of the Nation Address was a truthful reflection of the positive changes on the country as he challenged the public to protect the gains of his “straight path” policies and ensure that officials elected after his term will not go astray. There are lot of positive changes in our country that is cited in the fourth SONA of Pres. Noynoy, one of this is the continues strengthening of the agricultural sector as he cited the decrease in the country’s rice importation volume from 2 million metric tons in 2010 to only 350,000 metric tons this year. In addition to that, our country began exporting premium quality rice. The president also addressed the issue of land distribution in Hacienda Luisita, the vast sugar estate of his family in Tarlac that was very reasonably sincere and truthful. I am very inspired of the upcoming programs and plans of the government during Aquino’s administration. The president said the government also help uplift the lives of the fishermen, 41 percent o0f whom still live below the poverty line, by providing more cold storage facilities and building new priers. There are also budgets to be for the continuation of his reforms and will speed up the pace of efforts” toward long-lasting inclusive progress”. The only complain that I can make in the 4th SONA of Pres. Noynoy, that he failed to address the problems of poverty and growing unemployment rate and the impatience of the president in the pace progress of some agencies, such as the Bureau of Customs and National Irrigation Administration.
