Hist 1 (04:00-05:30 pm) Reaction Paper on the Assassination of Benigno Aquino Jr.

“My feeling is all we have to die some time. Now it’s my fate to die by an assassin’s bullet. So be it but I cannot be petrified by inaction or fear of assassination and therefore stay in a corner.” last words of Ninoy, Benigno S. Aquino Jr., few minutes before he was killed by a shot on a head.

Ninoy’s life in politics started very early. He was the youngest mayor at 22, the country's youngest vice-governor at 27, then governor of Tarlac two years later. He became the youngest senator in Philippine history at 34.His many achievements, despite his few years of experience, earned him the moniker, "Wonder Boy". He is a wide-reader

Many we’re still unsatisfied with the government hearings and investigation. Then Agrava Commission was founded, several fallacies by the government’s investigation were exposed. The first questionable part on the investigation was, Is Ninoy still on the service steps when assassinated or is he already on the Tarmac. It took 11 seconds before the first shot was heard, and there are 19 narrow service stairs. By there, one can conclude that it is impossible that Ninoy and his personal body guards and security reached the tarmac in just 11 seconds and so it clearly states that when he was shot, he was still on the service stairs. The second one, was the conversation heard over the camera saying “Akon na! Akon na!” (Let me …) and “Pusila pusila” (Shot him, shot him?!” which said to be said and told by someone to the assassin. And the third one was about the trajectory of the bullet in his skull. Based on the findings, the trajectory shot was going downward, shooter is at higher elevation and the exit wound is at the end of the chin which also proves that it is really going downward. Those was the major findings that made the concerned realize that maybe the assassin is not Galman whom at the …show more content…
And so they won, and elected Ninoy’s wife, Cory Aquino as a successor of Marcos and the first ever woman president in our country.

His death was the root and the very cause of the first ever Filipino movement, it made them prove or even people across the globe, that we, Filipinos can unite and fight for what we think is right. And so, it should be our motivation that we should also act and move as one if there’s another problem still yet to come. The movement also proved, that we can still be united, and I hope that in years to come, if there will be a problem that needs our unity to resolved, we can still act like that.

Almost all may have the idea that Marcos was the one who ordered to kill Aquino because it was also obvious that Aquino’s main opponent was Marcos. Finding justice for Ninoy’s death, is not really and just about finding the killer or the one who ordered to kill him, rather justice can also be found on how the Filipinos made Ninoy as an icon, leader and the one who woke them up to move, to act and to fight for what they think is right. And so for many other people like me I can say, that Benigno Aquino Jr is truly a hero for what he did, he died fighting the Filipinos, but he didn’t die in vain because the

He was a poet and a writer. He was the first Filipino to write an opera in the Filipino language entitled, Sandugong Panaginip. He also made some literary works such as, Sampaguitas y Poesias Varias and Poesias Lyricas y Dramaticas. During the revolution, he became one of the most prominent persons during the proclamation of the First Philippine Republic. He was elected as in the Malolos Congress on September 15, 1898. He leads whenever there is a meeting and he always suggests that everything should be settled in a peaceful, diplomatic way to avoid conflicts within the government. When the Malolos government was turned over to the Americans, he suggested that the Filipinos should make a deal with the Americans. He tried to win the sympathy of the Americans by organizing a holiday for two days (July 28 and July 29) wherein one of the guests of honors are General Arthur MacArthur and a few officials of the Taft Commission. But he did not succeed because of the photos of President Aguinaldo that were posted. In the end, the posters were confiscated and kept in the hands of the Americans.…

Like what had happened to Bonifacio it would have been more acceptable if it was our enemies’ bullets that shot and killed Antonio Luna but no; it was rather the hands of our own fellow Filipinos who inflicted him with not less than 40 wounds. It would even be more worth it if he died of fighting for the country but no, he was a victim of those cowards and traitors lurking behind the masks of “defenders of the country”. Inspite of his low temperance I considered Antonio Luna as one of the great men of history because he has determination to fight and defend our country from Americans. He is also well prepare to fight and had this courage to…

Benigno Simeon “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. is the most prominent Filipino senator of all time, for he showed his courage and nationalism. He was the one who served as an eye-opener for the Filipinos; he revealed the fraudulent conduct by the Marcos Administration. Even if he was condemned by Ferdinand Marcos and knows that his life is in danger, he remained faithful and strong to protect the rights of all the citizens in the Philippines. Ninoy was known for his saying; “The Filipinos are worth dying for”, he died bearing this kind of belief, a man who is strong-willed and willing to sacrifice his own life for the sake of Filipinos. One question awakens “What if Ninoy is still alive at this present time?”…

This August we celebrate the History Month as provided by Proclamation No. 339 signed by President Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino III on February 2013. The month of August marks a significant period in the history of our country. It reminds us about the beginning of the quest of the Filipinos to liberate our country from the tyranny of the Spanish regime. After the discovery of the Katipunan on August 19, 1896, Bonifacio called for a general assembly and on August 23, 1896 (an account of Pio Valenzuela on 1948) the Cry of Pugadlawin (also referred as “Cry of Balintawak”) happened where the Katipuneros tore their cedulas up which symbolizes their determination to to take arms and fight to the last. And the rest is history as they say. Another important incident happened in the month of August was the assassination of Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino Jr., the archrival of the Asia’s strong man Pres. Ferdinand E. Marcos. His assassination led to the awakening of the Filipino people from the abuses of the the dictatorship of Pres. Marcos. Some political analysts explained that Ninoy’s funeral which was attended by millions of Filipinos manifested the first “people power” against the late dictator. These stories became important turning points in our historical accounts.…

Going back decades ago, we were under the martial law led by Ferdinand Marcos, the archenemy of Ninoy. Everybody before looked upon Ninoy for he was the only political actor that readily questioned Marcos and therefore took the hearts of the people. And with his death, the people’s cry for democracy was only empowered to the point that everybody was swayed by his ill fate. Scores of students, teachers, and workers alike make use of his statement either to fight their rights, use it academically, and/or to give…

YEAR AGO this week, on 30 June 2010, Benigno Simeon Aquino III, known as “Noynoy,” was sworn in as president of the Philippines. He came to power with a sense of destiny derived, above all, from his parents. His father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, was gunned down on the tarmac of the Manila airport when he returned to the Philippines in August 1983 to lead the opposition against dictator Ferdinand Marcos. His mother, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, became the iconic leader of a Yellow Revolution that captivated the world. Thrust into the presidency upon the downfall of Marcos in the People Power uprising of February 1986, she remained a widely respected figure in Philippine politics until her death from cancer in August 2009.…
