Backbone Network: Connecting all of the LANs of an organization entails another type of network (BN). A properly designed backbone network provides a high-speed circuit that serves as the central conduit across which the LANs of an organization can communicate. They can also be used to connect LANs within a building, across a campus, and, increasingly, across much greater distances. A BN, as indicated by its name, is a network of its own. Besides connecting the various network segments, the backbone may have its own devices that can be accessed by other network segments…

    Argyro Karanasiou Summary

    • 368 Words
    • 2 Pages

What Argyro Karanasiou mentioned in her writing is difficult to understand and put it into words for the laymen when it comes to actual technical terms. In basic language, what Argyro is talking about is how a group of hackers can justify using a certain cyber-attack that will either slow websites to a very slow speeds or to a point that they are inaccessible to anyone other than an operator. That these attacks that the groups use is a form of “protest”, but because these attacks puts stress on hardware, the hardware that stores many information might be destroyed because of the strain that these attacks cause on the hardware. Due to this, many government officials consider this not a form of protest, but an attack.…

    Summary By Rula Quawas

    • 114 Words
    • 1 Page

In this article, Rula Quawas examines how the North and South despite their differences agree on one issue; a woman’s place. Quawes sees this issue as a cult like belief. She compounded ideas of what a man would think true womanhood consisted of in the 19th century. A few ideas was that a woman should have an understanding that the home is where she belongs and the economic world is for the man, the home is the only proper sphere for the female, and have knowledge about the functions as a mother and a wife. It is then seen if a woman does not partake in that belief system, she can simply be treated.…

In this way it recreates a real social history of the Brezhnev era.…

Of the two assigned chapters in the Betrothed, I found chapter 34 to be the most interesting. Alessandro Manzoni, the author of the historical novel, begins chapter 34 with the character Renzo trying to find his way into the heavily guarded, plague-filled city of Milan in order to find the love of his life, his fiancée Lucia. Renzo finally finds his way into the city by paying the guard a half-ducat. However, one obstacle that Renzo often encountered in his journey to find Lucia was that he did not know the exact address of where Lucia was staying at and almost nobody in the city seemed to be willing to help him find the location( that is, until a priest finally agreed to show him the way). This, perhaps, can be attributed…

In chapter 1, Bruno explains how he didn’t know exactly what his fathers job was. But, Bruno did mention that the fury had big things in mind for him. The fury could be a important organization that not to many people can be informed about. In chapter 1, Bruno's mother tells Bruno that his fathers job is a very important job and they need a special man to do it. This proves that Bruno's fathers has a very important role in the fury. Also, Bruno talks about his fathers office and how it is "out of bounds and no exceptions at all". A reason why the office is restriced could be because Bruno's father could possibly have information regarding his work that he wants no one to look at. If Bruno's fathers did work for the important organization that…

On the quest to fire Chisinau’s mayor Dorin Chirtoaca is a far more popular politician outside of Chisinau than in the city. Relying heavily on the pro-Romanian rhetoric, as well as on the suburbs, every of his last wins was a landslide. He would explain on what hindered his previous promises to come true, flaunt on his few successes (some of which we can smell even now on the streets) and warning against the mythical Russian hand, that threatens to take over Chisinau.…

    S. A Novel about the Balkans, by Slavenka Drakulic, is a story about a Bosnian woman, named S., who was tortured by the hands of brutal soldiers during the Bosnia war. The novel mainly centers on a series of S.’s flashbacks, as she recounts the horrific ill-treatment she endured throughout this time period. Through telling S’s story, the author creates a vivid image of how deep and dark human nature is during wartime. The story is a revelation of the terrifying aspects of war, which include torture, rape and mass murdering/genocide by the occupying forces. Slavenka Drakulic’s story depicts how S. rose above the war crimes and on top of injustice to show the true meaning of human life. During war, almost all men and women involved suffer immensely, however, as portrayed in the novel S., women suffer more through mistreatment, sexual abuse, mishandling and irreversible traumas acted upon by the inhumane soldiers. The events that occurred in Bosnia during the 1990’s will go down in history as one of the most inhuman and cruel time periods ever. Through the character S.,…
