Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse, which is initiated by one or more persons against another person without that person's consent. There are many factors which lead to rape and the consequences of rape and we have to be aware of the ways on how to prevent being the victim of rape. BODY

A. There are many factors which contribute to rape.
* Several factors have been proposed such as anger, a desire for power, sadism, as well as sexual gratification and evolutionary pressures * Other than that, the existence of ideologies of male sexual entitlement also plays a role which contributes to rape. * Most countries have weak legal sanctions for sexual violence. B. At the other end of the scale, there are countries with much weaker approaches to the issue where conviction of an alleged perpetrator based on the accusation of the women alone is not allowed, where certain forms or settings of sexual violence are specifically excluded from the legal definition, and where rape victims are strongly deterred from bringing the matter to court through the fear of being punished for filing an unproven rape suit.C. All of us should be aware of the steps needed to prevent the rate of rape from increasing. * Do not be distracted, especially by technology for example going on Facebook or Twitter while walking without any company. (Ben Rubenstein, 2012) * Be aware of your surroundings at all times especially at parking lots and garages as these are the places where rapists will usually aim their victims at. (Jack, 2012) * How you dress matters because it is not usually how attractive you dress, but how hard it may be to get away should you be approached by an attacker, and how easy it is to remove the clothes. (Versageek, 2012) CONCLUSION

Because rape has become a very worrying problem in our country, all of us should be aware of the factors, consequences and also know the steps in preventing...
