Randy Paunch’s Quotes That Apply to My Life.
Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 – July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals with quotes that have been circulating around the web since his stunning lecture that touched so many people. It gave them courage to live a better life by treating others better and never give up on their dreams.
The quotes I think applied to my life are as followed: “It’s not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.” I have read something like this in the book “The Secret” and I try to do in my life. Karma is a powerful force in the universe that many people do not think about. But when a person is thinking good things in their mind it seems to come out in our expressions and attitude to other person, which makes them happy to. Then in turn it comes back to that person like a circle, if you give the universe good thoughts and actions it returns it back to you.
“If I could only give three words of advice, they would be, “tell the truth”. If I got three more words, I'd add: “All the time”. This is something I truly believe in. If you tell someone a lie when you mess up and they catch you, that person will lose trust in you and you will lose their loyalty. But if you tell the truth all the time, a person will know that when it comes down to it, they can trust you in other things and they will be loyal to you for being honest with them and taking responsibility for your own actions or mess ups. “Find the best in everybody.” Everyone has a good thing about them. Whenever we look for the best in someone we give that person a reason to keep going when they are down. It gives that person confidence of their self-worth. Which in turn makes them open there mind and accomplish the task at hand. Having someone believe in you makes a person feel good about them self and in turn they make you feel good to.
In conclusion, Randy Paunch’s quotes gave people a new found perception on their life and the way they should be living it. He was a man who knew he was going to die, but could not do in thing to stop it and he never stopped living he’s life the way he spoke in his quotes. Many of the quotes that he says are very similar to quotes I read about in the book “The Secret”. I use these similar quotes to live by in my life and when used properly the outcomes are the same as what was being spoke about by living this way using these quotes.

This quote can be applied to many different circumstances in your life. This is why I believe it stands out so much to me. When I first read this quote I thought about football, but then I started thinking about it in a more broad perspective. If you apply it to your job, family, sports, etcetera, it all comes back to what the quote clearly states, no matter what the situation you always have a chance to succeed. Even when you think you've hit rock bottom, if you work to better yourself and your circumstances then you have succeeded. I also see it as when others think you've failed, you can truly judge yourself on how you respond. I always judged success on winning or…

Lies are told around the world multiple times during the day. Everyone sitting in this room has probably once today, said a lie. Sometimes lying is understandable for someone’s protection but sometimes the truth is essential to the person. There are multiple things people say in a day that are seen as lies such as “That outfit looks really good on you!,” “It wasn’t me!” and “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.” Honestly is not always the best policy because in the end it does not make everything better. People tell little lies so that they protect someone they care about and not hurt the feelings of another person. Honesty not always being the best policy is showed in The Scarlet Letter, “Tell All The Truth” poem, the “He Lies” video,…

Author Randy Pausch stated, "The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough. They're there to stop the other people.” in his bestseller book, The Last Lecture. The author explores the meaning of life's difficulties, and how these difficulties shape our character and help us discover our own potential. Furthermore, this quote suggests that success is not easily obtained, rather an individual needs to acquire abilities to overcome their struggles, which is the differentiating factor between humans. Essentially, the way in which one faces life difficulties is what makes each individual unique. Some people will overcome difficulties, while others will not, and the ability to rise above a problems will put one ahead or behind in life.…

One time I tried going a couple of days without telling a lie, and it was devastating. I noticed that telling the truth all the time is very impossible. Telling the truth comes with some serious consequences: Bank of America charges me 50 dollars fee for going over my limit, lost my best friend because I told her how I truly feel, and I received a failing grade for telling my teacher I didn’t feel like being on time to class today. Basically there must be some type of merit to not telling the truth.…

Being inspired by John Green’s ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ was one of the best inspiration I’ve ever had and it gives me happiness. One of the best quote in the book is “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings.” The quote was expressed as an idea that men themselves are responsible for their action.” Same goes to us, we are responsible for our action, our action to seek for happiness, we are the only person who can make ourselves happy, we’re as happy as we chose to be. When we are happy, we are able to inspire others and it doubles our happiness because inspiring others give us happiness…
