The minimum wage is the less amount of money an employee can earn hourly in a workplace. This was established to reduce exploitation and to guarantee employees the ability to support themselves and their family. The national minimum wage is now $7.25 and has been maintained the same since 2009. However, the cost of living has increased over the past decade.
