Rainy Season in India
India is mostly a hot country. The summer season starts in April and goes up to the month of October every year. The months of April, May and June are very hot almost all over the country. The rainfall in India occurs mainly in summer season. The months of rain are from June to September. All rains in India are brought by monsoon winds from the Indian Ocean. They start blowing in the month of June and cover the entire country by the middle of June.
The months of May and June are extremely hot. The earth goes dry and the grass is almost scorched. Every living creature feels miserable because of the merciless sun. The traffic dust-storms add fuel to the fire and the hot burning winds almost parch the body.
With the first shower of rain, the heat loses its intensity. The weather becomes cool and pleasant for some time though there is humidity in it. With the onset of rains the grass starts growing everywhere. There is greenery everywhere. Farmers sow summer crops that make the fields also green in a month or so. After the rains it is again hot for a month or so. This period is known as the second summer. After this second summer, the winter season sets in and the ghost of summer is left far behind.
The monsoons bring torrents of rainfall and the dry tracts of soil bloom into green fields. Now the government is trying to harness the rain water to irrigate more and more area. But the flood control measures have not so far paid dividends to the extent we expected.

Seasons have had control over the way people have been living since the beginning of time, and because of that, seasons have dominance over a novel that often goes unnoticed; by creating an atmosphere that readers can relate to. All seasons have certain aspects of life associated with them Thomas C. Foster writes about this in his book How to Read Like a Professor:…

The hot season lasts between the months of May and September, where daytime temperatures average at about 102 degrees Fahrenheit, and the northeastern monsoon blows. The warm season lasts between October and April, where daytime temperatures average at about 87 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity is high all year, but annual rainfall averages less than 5 inches. The central and southern inland areas can get some rain in the period from July to October, being touched by the summer monsoon, and also some additional rain during winter, from November to March. But overall, precipitation is rare. This makes the country very dry during the other months of the…

Summer has long, hot, and sunny days. It stays light out until late in the evening, but the temperature can be so miserably hot. It rains a lot in the summer and makes an ugly muddy mess. Unlike summer winter has short, cold, and dark days. It gets dark out before evening and the temperature can get really cold. It snows a lot in the winter and it makes a beautiful sparkling ground cover. During the summer people take advantage of being outside to whereas in the winter they stay snuggled together inside. Even though these seasons have extreme temperatures they both offer a wide variety of fun activities.…

As spring gradually turns into summer, life seems to be in full swing in the novel. In my opinion, summer symbolises abundant vitality which can be seen through the description Nick gives to Myrtle Wilson. “She was in the middle thirties, and faintly stout… but there was an immediately perceptible vitality about her as if the nerves of her body were continually smouldering.” (Chapter 2) During the summer months, romance and passion also seem to…

Summer was not exactly what I pictured. I believed it would portray meadows, birds, sunshine, and perhaps a body of water. To my surprise, it is actually quite a dark piece. The majority of the piece revolves around what seems like a thunderstorm. There are three movements within Summer; each section leads to the next scene. The first section, “Allegro non molto", is supposed to be performed fast . . . not too fast. The opening of this section incorporates lines of mimicking chords that slowly fade. Then, there is a slight pause of silence. And it quickly accelerates to an abrupt sound. The contrast of the timbres are evident between the cellos and the…

Virgo is a Summer Zodiac Sign (as are the Signs of Cancer and Leo). This time of the year is also known as the Summer Solstice when the days are longer and the nights are shorter than at any other time during the year. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer usually begins on June 21, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it begins around December 21. However, for the purposes of Astrology, the Northern Hemisphere timeframe marks the beginning of this Season. Spring is the Second Quarter (or Quadrant) of the yearly cycle and is traditionally considered to be a magical time during which the new life initiated in the springtime grows to maturity. In terms of the human life cycle, summer represents the time from the age of twenty-one to the age of forty-two...the dynamic period of development encompassing early adulthood to the mid-life period.…

Perhaps the first notice of spring can be seen in the climate’s temperature rising. Signaling what is known by many as the “spring thaw”, winter’s blanket of snow begins melting as the temperature changes. Along with the rise in temperature the first signs of new life are visible in the budding of the trees and flowers beginning to bloom. Hibernating animals awaken from their winter slumber and start foraging for food and searching for mates. Along with the rise in temperatures, our daylight hours increase and farmers use this extra time to cultivate the land and prepare for the planting of the crops. This is the time of year when the sky opens up with showers and love can be seen blooming all around us.…

characteristics of Indian summer monsoon also is changing. The Indian summer monsoon (June to September) rainfall is very crucial for the economic development, disaster management, hydrological planning for the country. Earlier, Mooley and Parthasarathy (1984), Parthasarathy et al. (1993), Parthasarathy et al. (1994), constructed all India rainfall series based on 306 uniformly distributed stations. They have also used area weighted method to calculate all India rainfall using rainfall data of the 306 districts outside the hilly regions like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, Bay Islands and Arabian Sea Island. Presently this time series is updated by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune (www.tropmet.res.in) and this rainfall time series was extensively used by many researchers. Essay on Monsoon

    • 780 Words

The southwest summer monsoon, a four-month period when massive convective thunderstorms dominate India's weather, is Earth's most productive wet season.[31] A product of southeast trade winds originating from a high-pressure mass centered over the southern Indian Ocean, the monsoonal torrents supply over 80% of India's annual rainfall.[32] Attracted by a low-pressure region centered over South Asia, the mass spawns surface winds that ferry humid air into India from the southwest.[33] These inflows ultimately result from a northward shift of the local jet stream, which itself results from rising summer temperatures over Tibet and the Indian subcontinent. The void left by the jet stream, which switches from a route just south of the Himalayas to one tracking north of Tibet, then attracts warm, humid air.[34]…
