Rains Are A Blessing For MankindAfter
Rains are a blessing for mankind. After hot summer months, we can only wait for a rainy day.
I remembered one such rainy day when I was going to school. I noticed a change in weather. The clouds gathered in the sky. Thunder rolled. Suddenly it started raining. There was a downpour for a short while but soon it turned into a steady rain. I had to give up the hope of going to school.
I saw people out in balcony of their houses thoroughly enjoying the showers. Children moved out almost shrieking in joy. The small children also started playing with the paper boats which they made with multi-coloured paper. All the dirt and dust from the plants and trees washed away.
The heavy rain went on for hours together. The roads and streets went under knee deep water. The parks turned into pools of water. Buses, cars and other vehicles stopped plying. Pedestrians were wading through the water. The normal life of the city was disrupted. However in the evening, the air became cool and pleasant. The trees looked fresh and green. A rainbow appeared in the sky adding to the beauty of nature.
It is exhilarating to watch pouring rain and is truely a great blessing of God. I enjoyed the day listening to songs, seeing the sights of rain outside and of course, eating delicious dishes.

As the wind screeched ominously and the lightning crackled in the sky, the people decided to retreat to the warmth of their houses. The candles were dimmed and the shutters were closed and the streets were mostly deserted. The storm blew all night and the next morning dawned fresh and blue. Nobody would have thought that just the previous night, an ugly storm had brewed up in that place.…

In the poem, “There Will Come Soft Rains”, by Sara Teasdale, an initial interpretation may be based on the knowledge that it fits into the post-apocalyptic/dystopian genre. To truly appreciate and understand a literary work, one must attempt to interpret it in many different ways. As a secondary interpretation, one may understand the poem to be portraying the message that humanity plays an extensive unnecessary role in the survival and vitality which nature upholds on earth.…

The rain fell down like tiny stones upon the weathered roof. It’s a gentle shower just now but the forecast said it is to get worse. The rain was making the atmosphere even darker and stuffier than usual. Save this. It is a normal Saturday night and as usual parents are out for some “time to themselves” I don’t have any brothers or sisters and I’m not aloud out because of the weather, so I’m left in myself for the night.…

We were all in my living room watching the news on updates of the storm. No one was worried until we watched the storm hit Broad Channel. The news showed the streets flooding with ocean water, businesses destroyed, and houses either collapsing or floating away. I could see the tears coming down from Andrew and Ellen’s eyes but they tried to control their emotions as best as possible. Then minutes later all lights and our television shut off completely and the rain was coming down hard. We were prepared for this with extra lights and candles. Since there was nothing to do, we decided to look out the windows for the time being. The street lights were all out and all we could see were the cars coming down the street and with that came the water. The more vehicles that came down the block, the more water that would come with it and flood the streets. Not only that, but the winds were picking up and pieces of the roof tops of houses were falling off and being thrown on cars and other…

When man’s reach exceeds his grasp, he will bring about his own destruction; this is an idea presented in many of Ray Bradbury’s works. Through irony and symbolism, the story indirectly details and warns us of the dangers of letting scientific progress run rampant. In Ray Bradbury’s “August 2026: There Will Come Soft Rains”, the author presents the idea that man’s complacency with technology will bring about the world’s destruction.…
