This movie is about a young man from the Anderson, SC area. The man has some difficulties in his life since he was born mentally challenged. Throughout the movie Radio (James Kennedy was his real name) befriends head football coach, Coach Jones. The first time they met in the movie was when Radio brought back a football that had been kicked over the fence a day or two earlier and Coach Jones told him he would buy him a hamburger. Then Radio started hanging around more. This is also where controversy started when the players would pick on him and play mean jokes. After football Radio went on to basketball to help out and it was more of the same from particularly one person that played both basketball and football. Radio was also granted the ability to come to school as an 11th grader and later on he was able to go as long as he wanted to. The film also shows how tough it is to be mentally challenged and to lose a parent. Coach Jones caught a lot of criticism throughout the movie taking up for Radio but he stuck through and said that as he is here more and more we can learn more and more from him just as much as he can learn from us. Eventually Coach Jones steps down from being the head coach at TL Hanna High but still kept his relationship with Radio. Towards the end of the movie is really where almost all the community gets behind Radio and supports him being there and really being a blessing to the community.…

    1. Radio One’s opportunities and risks with respect to their acquisition policy We have identified four main benefits and five major risks with respect to the desired acquisition of 12 urban stations along with the nine stations in Charlotte, Augusta and Indianapolis. Potential benefits: 1. After the acquisition of the 12 urban stations, Radio One becomes the market leader in the African-American segment. The market leader is usually the most attractive negotiator for advertisement companies since it targeting the audience largely. Therefore, the acquisition can increase Radio One’s advertisement revenues. 2. Radio One describes in its strategy plan the intention to expand its business activity scope in the long run. The acquisition of the 12 urban stations provides greater opportunities for Radio One’s planned expansion into a broader scope of media, such as internet, cable radio and recording. Therefore, the acquisition affects the realization of its strategy positively. 3. The acquisition can create some synergies for Radio One since the 12 target radio stations are in the same line of business as the existing radio stations. Potential synergies can be realized by cutting costs and improve efficiencies. One straightforward way to do this is by merging some of Radio One’s departments, for instance marketing, finance, and etcetera. 4. The African-American audience can be characterized as a high growth market segment with 60% faster population growth and 150% faster income growth than the general population. The acquisition enables Radio One to provide radio services in much more markets for the African-American audience. In this way, Radio One can attract more African-Americans which will become a very…

How many times have you heard the saying “Old age ain’t for sissies”? Well that is definitely true! Just as we age on the outside, our bones grow older on the inside also. Our risk for arthritis, osteoporosis and injuries increases with every passing moment. Knowledge of how to care for ourselves is important to reducing our risks. Osteoporosis is the most well known condition that affects our bones. “In the early stages of osteoporosis, there may be no signs or symptoms”. (www.webmd.com) Osteoporosis is often not diagnosed until a bone is broken or a Bone Mineral Density test is ordered by your physician. Therefore, it is up to us to continue our healthy habits. A good night’s sleep, proper nutrition and consistent exercise will help us to maintain our health. We must continue to follow any instructions that we receive from our medical physicians. Keeping track of our risk factors, (age, sex & family history) will allow our physicians to better calculate our chances of many different bone conditions. While women over the age of 50 have the greatest risk of developing osteoporosis, it can still affect anybody regardless of their age or sex.…

Brazil is rapidly privatizing many industries and its attitude toward a free market economy has changed significantly in the past 10 years. However, it seems the country still has a perception that often times associates capitalism with “greedy” developed countries. If the opinion of Brazil’s president is a reflection of how some of its people feel this is certainly the case. In 2008, Brazil’s president lambasted US corporations and the US government for “infecting his nation with problems that were not of its making (The New York Times, 2008).”…

Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, is a common, recurrent, and debilitating mood disorder which causes extreme shifts in energy and mood. The word bipolar indicates the two main polar extremes which a person with the disorder experiences. According to NIMH the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that oversees neurological and psychological research, this disorder affects about 2.3 million adults in the United States and about 1.2 percent of the population worldwide. The first signs of this disorder usually appear in adolescence and early adulthood, with cases seldom occurring in childhood. No findings have been made to indicate a difference in frequency among those of differing race or ethnicity. Bipolar disorder can sometimes be co-morbid with several other disorders, including panic disorder, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, and substance dependence. This essay will discuss the underlying causes of bipolar disorder, study its symptoms and the different forms that it takes, look into its treatments and possible cures, and finally, examine its supposed link with artistic creativity.…
