Racism Needs To Be Stopped In The US
Dear Future leaders of tomorrow,
Racism needs to be stopped in the U.S because; it leads to violence, it shows stupidity, and it and it lowers self-esteem ands values. The year is 2006 and we as a people are more united than ever, unfortunately there are still far too many people out there who think in such a narrow-minded way. Hate, prejudice, discrimination, fascism, and racism are a threat to human civilization. Considering eachother less because of some meaningless properties like skin-color, religions, etc.. is something that has to be stopped. But differences are to be praised, and not feared, and in the end, we all share a common thing: we are all human. Racism should be stopped, and education is the key, racism should not be fought

The U.S.A. was founded on the idea of racism when it first began. Black people were boated over from Africa and enslaved to help build it to what it is today. Americans used them to do all of their work without giving them anything in return and separated them from everyone else. In history there have been many cases that have made an effort to abolish segregation. Two cases that didn't just make an effort, but did just that were Plessy vs. Ferguson and Brown vs. Board of Education. They were related to each other as well because one changed the precedent established in the other. They also helped the country identify more with freedom than slavery.…

Everyday people experience racism in the world. Like the quote by poet and author Maya Angelou once said, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. ” People need to change their way of thinking about others. People need to start understanding others feelings.…

Racism is a very strong word. To many people, it means many different things. The actual definition is when a person or group of people feels superior to another because of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or simply who they are. So pretty much what makes a person human. Every since the Americans first brought over the slaves from Africa, racism has been a problem. Since the 1930s, after the Civil War, racism still exist in North America, and in the most awful ways possible. From there, racism has changed greatly. It is difficult to say whether or not that change has been good or bad, but just the fact that it has changed should be enough. Think about it; before, humans were using whips and nooses, but now, people use guns and poison.…

Racism is a touchy subject that has been major issue ever since its initial startup. Racism is the hatred towards a person or population of a certain race. The United States has taken huge leaps in equality, but there is still a long ways away from completion. Racism has always existed in America. When the nation was in its younger years, people owned people. People of the African American descent were considered property under the eyes of the law. How insane is that? Progress was made since then, but racism has only evolved. In the 1950s, whites and blacks were segregated to the point where they could not go to the same schools or even use the same bathrooms. Throughout A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry criticizes the state Of America…

Racism is a topic that has always been controversial for a countless number of years. It has been a serious topic since the beginning of America. Everyone has been a victim of racism at least one time in their life; no matter what race they may be. But what is racism? Racism is a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. People have been trying to find a “cure” to racism for a very long time. “What is the answer to racism?”…

Now no one really knows why or how racism all started but are many different beliefs as to why it did, for example some people have what is called “Xenophobia” which is the fear of people who are in anyway different. Another belief is the need to feel “OK” or to feel worthwhile this leads to people trying to feel superior over others by putting them down or being racist towards them. One more reason as to why racism all started is because people learned to conceal fear with racism. Many people react with fear towards those who look or come across different to them. But instead of showing fear or that they are afraid they use racial comments or racial slurs. Anyways I could go on and on about the reasons it all started but why not starting coming up with solutions on how we can get it all to come to an end so we can all live peacefully and equally and without being judged for the color of our skin or where we come from or what we eat, etc.…

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than the opposite.” Nelson Mandela, a leader of the fight to end apartheid in his home country of South Africa helps shed light on how racism can be fought in the United States. Even though America has come a long way from the times of slavery, racism continues to exist all over the country. Americans can learn to love one another, but they must first discover the roots and causes of racism and stop it before it spreads. In order to deal with racism, Americans often: refuse to accept the facts, accept it as a way of life, and do not do enough to stop its practice.…

I believe that everyone is a human and that we should not be dehumanized because of what race society categorizes us to be. Almost everyday on the news, you hear of some case where a person has been bullied or mistreated so bad that they commit suicide. Most of the time they are bullied simply because they are unique. Racism is an act where a person or group of people are discriminated against because of a particular characteristic, or set of characteristics, they have whether its from race, skin color, or religion. Some ways to eliminate racism are to stand up for your beliefs while respecting the beliefs of others, not taking part in hurtful acts, and also if you see a form of racism not…

Racial equality is something that today's society needs to be striving for. To accomplish this, humanity needs to more have mutual respect and empathy for each other.
