Racial Stereotypes In The Film Crash

The film Crash takes place in modern day Los Angeles, California and follows a variety characters throughout the course of 36 hours. The first scene of the film shows Detective Graham Waters and his partner Ria involved with a car accident with an Asian woman named Kim Lee. Ria and Kim Lee exchange insults that include racial stereotypes. Graham is then seen walking over to a crime scene where a body is discovered, but the audience is unsure of the identity of the victim.
