    In 2003, Phillip McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, created a weight loss solution that consists of seven steps that make up a process of learning and working on resolving the emotional and physiological obstacles to weight loss. In preparation to his program, Dr. Phil spent eight years counseling people who were up to three hundred pounds overweight. The first step in his solution is right thinking, which involves the individual taking responsibility for their weight problem. The second step is healing feelings, which is an effort to eliminate the person as them thinking of themselves as the victim and a start to take action about their problem. The third step is called a no-fail environment which involves creating circumstancing that supports a weight loss plan such as removing unhealthy foods from your house and access. The forth step is to eliminate an individual’s habit of impulsive eating. The fifth step guides the individual through the process of evaluating eating habits and learning to make healthy choices and replacing unhealthy junk with more high in fiber and nutrient food. The sixth step is intentional exercise, where the individual will begin to add exercise as part as their daily routine. The last step in the program is enlisting the help of the individuals family and friends as part as a circle of support to encourage his or her weight loss efforts.
