Most of us eagerly await the foretold ZL-1 and Z/28 versions but for now the SS is a stellar performer. GM says 70% of the car is new and in total it weighs some 200 lbs (91 kg) less than its predecessor. The SS has 455-horsepower from a V8 and that makes it one of the fastest Camaros ever created. It also has a version of GM’s first 8-speed transmission that sounds like a lot of gears but assists the car to 60 mph (100 kph) in only 4 seconds flat. Add in functional aerodynamic aids like hood vents and a spoiler and you have a Camaro that feels solid at its 160 mph (257 kph) top…

The Holden Monaro is a coupe sports car in the line of HSV, or Holden Sports Vehicles, made by its namesake Australian company. The car comes in a couple different specifications, but the engine is always either a V6 or a V8, making it a powerful and fast vehicle. The original Monaro was created in 1968 with different “species” of car throughout the next three years. The second generation of Holden Monaros was begun in 1971, which changed the body design of the car completely as well as made the V6 engine no longer an option. The 1970’s Monaro was definitely a muscle car, though over the years until 1977 the vehicle became more of a luxury sedan instead of the hard muscle it had begun with. The Monaro was finally reborn in the 2000’s and did very well in the Australian marketplace. There were a couple of reasons for the public interest in this vehicle, and much of it had to do with how the car was positioned in the marketplace.…

    Chronicle of Le Mans

The Chronicle of Le Mans depicts events that took place in the French town of Le Mans toward the late 10th century. The document tells primarily of the evil acts of Sehok ben Esther Israeli, a former Jew who has converted to Christianity, and how he strove against the Jewish community in Le Mans. By examining this text, we can glimpse the beginnings of Jewish animosity toward converts; the events of the text purportedly took place in 992 CE, which, if true, situate the text in the beginning of Christian missionizing efforts and the glorification of martyrdom that Jews took on in place of converting. However, the text also shows reflections of 13th-century tensions between Jews and Christians. For example, the text alludes to how the Jewish were seen as having knowingly killed Christ, a Christian viewpoint that gained prevalence in the late medieval ages. The Chronicle of Le Mans therefore not only depicts the Jewish-Christian tensions of the 10th century, but also how tensions evolved and heightened into the 13th century. By examining The Chronicle of Le Mans, we can observe the path leading to the state of Jewish animosity toward converts in the 13th century.…
