This document is intended to provide applicants, who have little or no experience in writing résumés, with some tips to help you prepare a résumé to include with your application to University Canada West. The résumé is a detailed chronological account of your education background, work experience, and other related experience. There are many résumé templates and samples available on the internet. This is only one sample résumé format. Choose the format that best meets your needs and fits your specific background.

Customer Service Representative 2011 – Present • Primary Responsibilities include: o Receive inquiries from all incoming phone calls and direct the client to the appropriate department for resolution o Provide system expertise regarding customer contact management system • Major Accomplishments include: o Increased annual sales by 10%, accomplished in a recessionary year o Have received regular praise for my friendly and welcoming manner o Chosen by my fellow employees to be their team captain for the new widget product launch
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Volunteer, Senior’s Old Age Home 2011 – Present • Volunteer 4 hours per month, reading and visiting with the seniors who receive no visitors. Volunteer, Cancer Society Summer 2010 & 2011 • Volunteer 2 hours per week, making and delivering lunch to patients in treatment. Tutor, Sisimiut Elementary School 2003 – 2006 • Assisted struggling readers in the early elementary school years.
