Quotes About Bette
If you have ever been in the midst of a big project and lost determination, chances are you needed motivation, and what better motivation is there than quotes? People turn to quotes when they are sad, happy, stressed, etc. to read about their feelings that they can't quite express. Quotes can come from small authors, big companies, or even anonymous unpaid writers, but nevertheless , all quotes affect us in one way or the other. Quotes can be applied to people as they describe a person or persuade a reader to learn from their inspirational content. With this logic, I hand picked anonymous quotes that would describe and teach Gigi, Bette, and June how to take a deeper look at their hidden personalities.
Gigi is by far the happiest and most

She glides with grace on stage and was born into the conservatory because of her sister's success. However, Bette holds very dark secrets within herself that would spoil anyone’s views of her. A quote that would be a very good description of Bette would be, “Looks can make the monsters inside of us invisible”. This quote best describes Bette because on the outside, Bette seems put together, secure, and above all, beautiful. However, when you take a closer look at Bette, there’s no denying the ‘monsters’ inside of her. For example, on pg. 126, Bette’s true colors were showing as she states, “ I take two pills. I’ll have to text my dealer for more after my mother gives me my weekly allowance”. No one knows her darkest secret that she takes pills to calm her nerves, stress, and anger. This shows how perceiving looks can be. Moving on, a quote that Bette needs to learn from would be, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”. This quote is teaching the lesson that no matter what, you can still find happiness within yourself. If only Bette were to try to change her view of the world, maybe she wouldn’t have had to turn to drugs to ‘help’ …show more content…
June’s goal is to be perfect, nothing more, and certainly nothing less. Her extreme training and dieting has pushed her body over the edge and she has no intention of stopping. This has led her to a major eating disorder that she consistently hides to stay at the conservatory. Considering these factors, a quote that would describe June would be, “I wasn’t born with perfection, but I’ll do anything to achieve it”. This quote describes June straight out. June has a mixed cultural background, so the odds in ballet were stacked against her from the start. However, something thriving inside of her makes it so she will do anything, dangerous and all, to be perfect. The simple and useless term of perfection describes June because she can’t let herself be anything else. Due to June’s conditions, there are many quotes that June would need to learn from, however, I narrowed it down to, “Eat and exercise because you love your body, not because you hate it.” This is a very meaningful and inspirational quote that could teach June many things. When June eats, she always throws it up, due to her hatred towards her body. A strong ballerina should eat to help their intensive training along the way, but June’s tactics are obviously different. Furthermore, when she exercises, it is triggered by hatred, not to improve herself. So, this quote would be very beneficial for June to learn

    Marriage of Bette and Boo

    1. The Marriage of Better and Boo was interesting, what I found interesting was that it definitely got darker as the play progressed making it almost more of a dramatic piece then a comedic. I definitely liked how they set the show, under a circus tent. Because I feel that that it fit, because chaos and craziness can be found under a tent, and all sorts of characters, which how these two families ended up relating to each other. Each had their own problems and where very crazy. Bette’s family had a father that couldn’t speak, to a sister who felt as if she always did something wrong, while Boo had a mother who was airheaded, or wanted you to believe that, and a father who was addicted to drinking. Together these two families create chaos. Something that was interesting that didn’t jump out at me as loving it, but I accepted it, was the only surviving son, narrating the whole story, and the events jumping from past to present, to future. It was sad to find out, that Bette and Boo left each other half way through the play, but they didn’t tell us why. It gave the play a twist that was fun to watch.…

Among the inmates, Harding’s demanding wife has robbed him of all social and sexual confidence. Billy Bibbit’s overbearing and over-protective mother has caused his stammer and terrified timidity in the presence of women. Similar statements could be said of Billy Bibbit’s mother and Mrs. Harding, who take advantage of the instability of, respectively, their son and husband. Kesey suggest that women like these would not be able to obtain a lot of power had they not been associated with weak and unstable men. much like the Big Nurse would not have had that kind of power in the real world while Bibbit’s mother couldn’t have institutionalized her son if he had the capacity to realize his freedom. “ Sweetheart, you still have scads of time for things like that. Your whole life is ahead of you.” (247) Bibbit’s mother constantly tells Bibbit that he can put off his life so he can pretend to be a child forever. Bibbit never went to college and never actually had a girlfriend, all of these things insisted his mother could be had when he was older. This later on led to the frustration Bibbit faces and in the end, so overly abused from this Bibbit resorts to acting like a child day in and day out. Likewise Harding’s wife manages to feed upon his frailty and lack of masculinity to obtain, to her, a comforting sense of triumph. Had she been married…

Many people want to believe they are the best and if they aren’t they should just give up. Derek Jeter once said “ there may be people who have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do - and I believe that.” This quote is known as one of the most inspirational quotes for athletes. Jeter’s quote has been applied to the lives of many athletes, especially Jessica Long, Babe Ruth, and himself. . It has affected those individuals in different ways and taught them different things. Each athlete has had a rough patch or difficulty in their sport(s) but they knew that they had to work at it instead of just giving up. That is what made these three good athletes.…

Bettle wanted a place to live and a family, teenagers at this age need someone to guide them, someone who will teach them what's right and wrong. One of the similarities is that Bettle needed someone who will teach her, and give her the warm feeling of love by a member of a family or friend. Another similarity is that we do not give up, we fight for what we believe and what role we want to take in our lives, and if we fail, we try again and again. Something that catched my attention a lot was when she said at the end: “... I can do what you tell me and take what you give me, I know how to try and…
