Questions on Project Management: Personal Experience
For this assignment to be completed is a three to four sentence response to each question. The way this assignment works is we are all given the same question two questions to answer and then we must respond to at least two of our student’s responses to the question. So I am going to post the questions, followed by the responses from two of my class mates, in which I need a 3 to 5 sentence response, written. In all you will have done 4 responses, as well as answered the two questions, the response I need written is for the a and b responses already posted. The a and b responses are highlighted in turquoise this is what you are writing a response too. DO NOT FORGET TO ALSO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS! 1. Project managers must understand and communicate with all the stakeholders of a project. The project sponsor is one very important stakeholder that needs to be satisfied with the outcome of a project. Describe why the project sponsor is one of the most important stakeholders, and what a project manager should do to keep them informed of the status of a project. Provide professional examples if possible. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings. A) Unless you (the PM) has already formed your team, then meeting milestones is pointless with the clock ticking, and still no team at the ready. Also, all executives on the project committee need to look at and approve the charter first. They should also sign it, especially if their department is going to commit funds to the project. This way, when the budget gets tight, and it will, they will be a little more reluctant to remove (shut down) your project from the funding base, if they know they signed their name to it. Get them to sign it. This more than likely is something your project sponsor will do. It is quite possible that if you are having difficulty getting the right people to sign, then your project sponsor may be able to sway them.
