1. Was the Korean War a US war or a UN war? Provide two historical examples to support your views. The Korean War was a US war. This is because ninety percent of fighting men in the war were provided from the US and South Korea. Also, Macarthur was prevented from communicating with the United Nations because of President Truman. Disagreeably, the US dispatched the 7th Fleet to the Taiwan Straits, but this displays that the US acted on its own against those nations that disagreed.
2. How do Canada and Latin America react to the Korean War? Why do these reactions differ so greatly? Canada feared US domination, so it supported the UN, hoping that it would limit US influence. Did the US win the Korean War? Provide two specific details to support your views. The US did win the Korean War. The US was able to achieve many of its main goals for fighting, such as the stop of the spread of Communism, and its ability to ‘save’ South Korea. Furthermore, the US was able to develop Japan as a reliable and valuable ally in future conflict. The overall success of these goals displays the somewhat positive outcome of the war for the US, and those a considerable win.

    The first thing that has to be noted about the Korean War is the indirect confrontation of the superpowers thus united states of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
