Queen Elizabeth II Research Paper
Queen Elizabeth the second was born April 21, 1926 in London, England as Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. Her father, Prince Albert, later known as King George VI, was the son of King George V and Queen Mary. She was third in line for the throne, after her uncle, King Edward VIII, and father. After Elizabeth's grandfather died and her uncle gave up the throne to marry American Wallis Simpson, her father became King leaving her next in line for the throne. In her younger years before (and after) becoming queen Elizabeth did many things to contribute to society, and she and her sister Margaret were allowed to mingle among civilians on Victory in Europe Day. Through her life she has done many things to help others. In 1939 during World War Two she spoke over the radio saying, "that in the end, all will be well; for God will care for us and give us victory and peace." Trying to calm the people. Also on her 21st birthday, she proclaimed her dedication to public service and said, "I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service." Although Queen Elizabeth is not actually out building homes or helping homeless, she is still patron to many organizations and funds many charities. Another thing is that during the Queen's reign many things in Britain changed for example, the size of the immigrant population increased, there are now more women in the workforce, and the average lifespan of a typical Briton is higher. Overall under her rule the United Kingdom advanced well with the rest of the world. Queen Elizabeth has done many interesting things and continues to do more in her life; she has been appointed councilor of state at eighteen years old during WWII, she joined twitter, she has been to countless events, and even survived some terrifying events. So far she has been a great queen and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to
