There is a high amount of trust that the follower will do well, requiring little supervision or support. Delegating still keeps the leader involved in the decisions and problem-solving, but execution is mostly in the hands of the followers. There is less need for support or frequent praise, although occasional recognition is always encouraged.
After interviewing and observing the Head of School and Assistant Heads, it is clear that all the styles are used according to the context but the prevailing leadership styles in the school are Supporting and Delegating. This conclusion was brought by the belief that importance to the democratic process is given, particularly to ownership. Any member of staff has something to offer, needless to say that everyone is different and has talents to share and instill in others. It is also believed that others have something unique to pass on to others, having said this, it makes the environment we live in something not conservative or static, but a living experience with guidance from the Management

In my line of work, new staff are qualified to do the job but would have had very little class experience as part of their placement. Due to the lack of experience, confidence might be low to do the job completely alone. It also takes time to adapt to all the school’s values, policies and diverse academic and social situations, therefore I believe that a good element of coaching will be needed. On the first day of my job, the Head was a woman with an uneffective Autocratic leadership style. I still clearly remember this day, starting with very little experience of working in a school, as if I had been put into a den of lions without any tools. If I had to go back in time, I would have appreciated a Coaching style of leadership until I settle down and feel comfortable to be left alone, and after consultation with new colleagues, they confirmed this. Feedback is vital for new staff, giving more possibility of self evaluation. One of my strongest abilities is welcoming new staff into the school and help them familiarise themselves with important procedures and policies. I am a good listener and problem solver. I also enjoy sharing methods that I found effective. I need to work on being more tolerant and patient with people of different

Experiment M1 was designed to familiarize us with how to take measurements with motion sensors, inferring graph such as time vs velocity and time vs position, and differentiating random and systematic error in an experiment. During activity 1 we begun by standing in front of motion sensor at a distance of 1.2 meters and varied our distance by 0.6 meters over the course of 25 seconds. This activity presented us with a position vs time graph that we were supposed to replicate to our best ability. For activity 2 we are given a position vs time to replicate and after replication a velocity vs time graph is created below. The graph showed that, though the position raises, evens out, and then returns to initial position; the velocity spiked positively, dropped negatively, and then evened out. During activity 3 we discussed the terms average value, random errors, systematic errors, accuracy, precision, and standard deviation. Using the equations provided in the text, we are able to calculate the average value and the standard deviation using the average value of both trails. After both calculations on each trial we were able to come to the conclusion that, increasing the range of results ultimately increased the standard deviation and random errors. The increase in standard deviation and random error lowered the accuracy of the trial. Theoretically, by closing our eyes in trial two there should have be an increase in standard deviation, random error, and a lower accuracy; in our results however, the second trial had a .000044 lower standard…

I appreciate that my community is unapologetically diverse in terms of ethnicity but bonded by a shared passion. From my Japanese class at school, to my friends in costume design and anime, we share a common understanding of Japanese culture. Whether it’s friends from the maid cafe who taught me to feel comfortable trying new and foreign ideas, customs and dances to the cross-country team where I learned the value of individual effort toward a team goal, we all share the same trust and understanding that comes from open and like-minded…

This research is carried to identify whether this role of the principle as the instructional leader is being practised in Malaysian government schools and its relationship with the overall climate of the school. The method used to carry out this research was a questionnaire of the characteristics of a principle as an instructional leader based on a Ohio State University dissertation project on the implications of instructional leadership (Jana Michelle Alig-Mielcarek, 2003). The presentation about “Situational teaching styles” can be listed under the attempts aiming at developing the Moroccan educational system through the implementation of more flexible and more adaptable teaching styles. The importance of this presentation lies in the fact that it summarizes the first book in Morocco that approaches the issue of teaching styles from a leadership perspective and, at the same time, tries to go beyond the conventional issue that narrows the range of teaching styles down to two: the democratic and the authoritarian styles. Furthermore, the book recommends different teaching styles that vary according to the teacher’s situation. Of equal importance, the book asks many questions related to teaching styles and seeks practical answers inspired from studies done in the field of Organizational Behavior and Situational Leadership (Paul Hersey and Kenneth Blanchard Model)…
