Passion, Motivation, & Wisdom John Hagel’s reading “Pursing Passion” described different insights and analysis of perspective of passion. What does “Pursing Passion” means to me? Pushing that goal of energy into success and doing what you enjoy the most. My passion, motivation, and wisdom is what drives me to continue my career in the early childhood field. Hagel (2010) stated passion is about perseverance and pursuit and passive. Passion to me is connecting with other people and seeing the progress of the children in his and her stages of development. What motivates me is my family, they bring encouragement to my life and seeing my kids mature into their adult hood. The children I work with everyday motives me and

Each of the speakers on the video described how they enjoy working with children and felt like they needed to make a contribution or difference in the world. Not only with the children but connecting with other teachers and the parents. Involving the families and making a difference in someone’s life drives the motivation to keep impacting lives. People who are passionate see new opportunities and challenges to perform on newer levels (Hagel, 2010). Ways my professional goals reflect my passion for early childhood is by continuing my education, I believe you can never stop learning. My motivation is to graduate from the Master of Education of Early Childhood Studies and to own and operate a childcare center. As I mentioned early my two kids have motivated me to pursue my dream and goal. Wisdom comes from a long history of working with children of all ages and accepting the challenges that comes with this

I use this passion as a tool to progress further along my path to achievement. And I know that this passion will always drive me to reach the accomplishments I desire. I have a passion to help the people around me, just as Andrea has helped me, and to become an English professor and never stop learning. Just as Mortenson’s passion spilled over into everything he did, my passion cup is overflowing, and spills even into all parts of my life, ranging from relationships with my family and friends to what I should eat on a daily basis. I have made a promise to myself—that I will never give up on my dreams. I have realized that in order to be successful in life I needed to make big changes in my lifestyle, and I have made those positive changes to guide my success in the right direction. I am currently attending classes full time, as well as volunteering my time to mentor 36 students. Although I am giving up a lot of my free time in order to help the success of others, I feel that this experience is extremely rewarding and that I will continue to grow throughout my journey and the experiences I endure every day. This is important to me because in order to have the impact on the world that I want to achieve, I need to be a good person, and that goodness will fill the lives around me, as well as my own…

I decided to become an early childhood professional because kids are simply my passion. Even though working with children may not always be easy, its still worth it. Some days can be frustrating, and we may need to go take a breather, but there’s always something in my head telling me to not give up. When I’m around kids, I feel like I forget everything that's around me, I forget what’s going on. If I arrive in a bad mood, when I sit down with a child, my mood changes. I have babysat for the past few years and my passion for kids have grown larger and larger throughout the years. I feel like since when I started this program a year ago, I've come a long way, and I’m not afraid to be silly with the kids anymore.…

There was a wise man who once said, “do it with passion or not at all,” because anything worth acting upon will ignite a spark within that is so insatiable that one cannot help but burn to act upon this desire. Passion can be defined as desire, and almost necessity, for something, whether it manifests through love, happiness, work, or simply life.…

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve known what I wanted to do. I am one of those people who was blessed enough to realize my passion at an early age. As far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to become a teacher. I can remember as a child sitting in my room, surrounded by my stuffed animals (or students, as I saw them) and forcing my younger brother to sit still and quietly do the work I assigned him. I even had two baskets which I kept on my little wooden desk; one for my “students” to turn in work, and the other for more work which needed to be graded. I spent many afternoons teaching my little brother whatever I had learned in school that day, from writing words to adding numbers. It made me feel proud when he understood what I was trying to show him, and it made me even more proud when he started school and was slightly ahead of his classmates. Where did this passion stem from? I can only account it to my mother, who has been a teacher for 25 years. So, when asked the question “Why do I want to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education?” I am overwhelmed at the many thoughts and reasons which come to mind. My first reason is passion, plain and simple. Love for the job, for all it means and all it stands for. Another reason is for personal satisfaction. I set a goal, once upon a time, to complete my degree and become a licensed teacher. I like to complete my goals in life, and I don’t feel fully content until I have mastered what I set out to do. My last reason, and quite honestly one of the most important reasons I am pursuing my ECE degree is my family. I have a husband and a baby boy who are my entire world. I want to get this degree to provide stability and security for my family. I feel that these three reasons are the combined drive that motivates me to push for this degree, until I walk across…
