Purpose for Living
Chapter 1 - Purpose for living
Have you ever paused to ask yourself these: What am I doing in this world? Why am I still alive? What is the purpose of my existence? If you feel that much of your life is purposeless, let me assure you right away that God does have a purpose for your life – a high and noble purpose! There are two major purposes for living – to know God wholeheartedly and to be aware of others. I assume you are already aware of God, so are you aware of others? Do you care for those who are faced with everyday problems of life? How many people will praise God through you? How much do you care for the less privileged and those in troubles, how do you feel and react whenever someone else is in pain? Please answer these questions before you continue. Let us start this way. We are not in this world to live for ourselves, we are not in existence so as to please ourselves but we are living for God. This must sink into us, God made us for Himself and Himself alone and we are to live for Him. If you are trying to find your purpose outside God, you will fail, He is the only one who has the master plan of our life, he knows the in and out, He formed you and I for a reason and to discover this reason we must start from Him. My point here is that we must live for God and how do we live for Him? By fulfilling our purpose of existence. To fulfill this, we must start with Him. On the other hand It is a pity that so many people claim to love God and they don’t obey Him, they don’t do His will. Oh! You don’t know that God’s highest priority is in people. Selwyn Hughes says “God’s highest priority in this universe has to do with people”. He is interested in things of course – He created all things – but His primary concern is you and me. God does not make your services His priority. Allow me to say that God is not interested in the services you want to render nor your good deeds as long as you are not in a right

This question asks plainly “What is the meaning of life?” or more specifically “What’s my purpose?” The Theistic belief, as stated by Weider and Gutierrez, is that the purpose of man is to know God. The Christian can know God through a relationship that was bridged by the Messiah (John 1:18). By this salvation a purpose is given to share the Gospel (Mark 16:15).…

    3. The question of meaning/purpose- Why Does mankind exist? Christians believe that mankind exists to glorify the creator. This is accomplished through a wide variety of efforts and means. Some of these efforts include worship, (Psalm 95) obedience, (Philippians 2:12-13) prayer, and thanksgiving. The object of these efforts is to establish a personal relationship with God. The end result of the relationship being eternal life where the individual pleasures in God’s immeasurable glory for eternity.…

“My command is this; love each other as I have loved you” John 15:12. The quote above is stating that we are here to love each other. I take that to the next extent. I see it as a statement of love all things. I believe everyone has a purpose for being here today. We all have that passion or iinterest or quirky inspiration that gets us going every day. The goal that gets us out of bed 2 hours after we went to sleep to repeat the same old school or work day. The thing that we hope someone will ask about so you can just tell them your elaborate plan. So they can see the glow in your eyes when you speak about it. That for me is to become a veterinarian.…

We all have the same purpose, and we know this in our souls. It is to create and live a meaningful life wherever we are, here on earth. The primary tasks of this purpose are to live, to learn, to heal, to create, to teach, to love, to nurture, and to share all of it with the others who are our co-journeyers here. All of these tasks are non-finite; they have no “done” point.…
