Puppy vs. Dog
Buying a Puppy vs. Buying an Older Dog

Since the Internet was not working, I had to chose another theme to write about. I picked the theme "Buying a Puppy vs. Buying an Older Dog." These two topics don't have much in comparison, but they are very different. Buying a puppy at a very young age can be a difficult or easy process, depending on how you train the puppy. Buying an older dog is very tricky in many ways. There are very few comparisons about buying a puppy versus buying an older old. One comparison is that they are both pets. They are alike by there structures and mannerisms. Another comparison is that they are a very good companionship to you and your loved ones. There are many different things about a new puppy and an older dog. For one thing if you buy a puppy, you can train the puppy to the way of life your used to living to. You can train your puppy to be on a schedule. If you buy an older dog, it may not be trained. Older dogs aren't as easily trained as younger puppies. A puppy can grow up knowing who you are and get familiar to you and the people around you. An older dog may have had a bad past, and may be meaner or not as friendly towards others. The older dog won't be familiar to you, your family, or the people around you. I think you should buy a puppy instead of buying an older dog. If you are looking to buy an older dog, you have to look at the dogs past and determine if it is going to be easier (for you and the dog) to train a puppy or have to teach an old dog new tricks. To me, it will be easier to buy a new puppy versus buying an older

If you aren't familiar with what goes on in puppy mills or what they are; it's basically a giant enclosure of dogs that are under terrible conditions and are forced to breed with another dog of its same breed to be able to make a purebred puppy also known as ‘’pure blood’’ this means it is not mixed with any other breed and makes the puppy more appealing to a consumer because the personality of the puppy is much more predictable and will be able to chose one that matches their personalities. For example pit bulls and Rottweilers are more commonly know to have an aggressive nature on the contrary pugs and beagles are more…

This is important because when people buy dogs from pet stores, they almost always are buying a puppy that was once in a mill. These dogs are ridden with behavior issues and various diseases. The article, “A Closer Look at Puppy Mills,” explains that puppies are taken from their mothers at 6 weeks old, which is far too young. "The first months of a puppy's life are a critical socialization period for puppies. Spending that time with their mother and littermates helps prevent puppies from developing problems like extreme shyness, aggression, fear and anxiety" (ASPCA). This shows how wrong it is to take puppies from their mom too young. Then, people buy the dogs from the pet store, dogs can be aggressive, skittish, or fearful of people. Not to mention health issues, such as heart disease, kidney disease, blood disorders, eye issues, breathing problems, deafness and other problems like fleas and ticks. Puppy mills trick people into buying unhealthy puppies(ASPCA). As a result, people bring home sick puppies with many behavior problems due to puppy…

As you can see, there are some similarities to raising a puppy and an older dog, but there are many differences. Before getting a puppy, I would definitely advise looking into not only the costs associated with a puppy, but the time and attention that a puppy needs. Because that is the major difference. An older dog doesn’t require as much time and effort into raising as a puppy…

My dog names Panda is 10 years old now, so this paragraph will investigate the differences and similarities between a period of puppy and now. The first thing is behavior. When Panda was young, it is like normal puppies which are naughty and energetic, therefore, it likes to run around the house and bark everything that has movement. On the other hand, now Panda has less energetic, sleep all days and easy to exhaust. However, similar behavior is always following owners. Then until now, Panda always walk along with us wherever we go because it doesn’t want to stay alone. The second thing is eating habit. When it was a puppy, it ate everything include flower, leaf, and wood, whereas now it chooses things to eat rather than eat everything such…

Siberian huskies are smart and can be trained easily if done early. Older dogs are harder to train from what I heard. Pups are easier and if I get a puppy I must plan to spend time training it to be the dog I want. Training them when they’re just a puppy will make it easier than when they’re older. It’ll take time to train them when they’re older. Lastly Siberian huskies are easier to train when they are puppies.…
