Be punctual! Be smart!
Good morning everyone! I am Naveen Rana, Before I give out my speech, I want to ask all of you a question. How many of you have not been late? Recently, our school has been developing a bad record for students arriving late in the morning. If you are a smart student, don’t be late anymore! In the following, I will tell you the reasons behind. Punctuality shows that you are responsible. Because you are responsible, you will be punctual. It is one of the major factors to see whether a person is responsible enough. Responsibility is very important to your study and future life. If you are responsible enough, people will feel better to give you tasks to do. If not, they will not let you do anything. Lateness gives a bad impression on the others. Punctuality always gives the first impression. The first impression received by your teachers is always determined by your punctuality. If you are punctual, teachers will firstly think that you are a good student. As I have mentioned before, teachers will think you are reliable enough to give you some important tasks to do. In the future, if you are late, your employers will also have bad impression on you. The chance of being promoted must be lower than the others who are punctual. In some serious cases, people who are late on their first day of work are fired immediately. Lateness does not only give a bad impression on you, but also on the image of school. Passers-by can see that student always run to school in order not to be late. Even in the school hours, they can see you are walking on the streets.
What do you feel if you were them? The answer must be the students of the school are bad. They are not responsible at all. That’s why lateness is so unacceptable. Apart from these, lateness will also affect the others. If you are late, you will affect the progression of events. Imagine all the students were late, the morning assembly cannot be conducted. I am writing this essay because on January 17th, 2012, I failed to report to my appointed place of duty at the proper time. I accidentally turned off my alarm clock instead of hitting the snooze button, which I usually do. This does not excuse anything, but it is the reason. There are many reasons why being on time is important, both inside and outside of the military. Failing to be at a place you are supposed to be at the right time can cause so many problems, including losing your job, receiving counseling statements, having to write ridiculously long essays which take up more free time than you really have, receiving an Article 15, and creating more work for your peers.…

Although the teachers are the first point of contact in the school, but the people in the background are also important. For example the cleaners in the school that maintain the cleanliness of the school, making it an appropriate study environment. Also, the people in the general office, the principal, vice-principal, OM so on so forth. Without them, the school would not have been the same, and paperwork would not have been done. The teachers have also done their part, planning lessons, marking school work, taking care of classes, and I believe they deserve a round of applause. I think they are extraordinary people who carry out their task very well. It is very heartwarming to see teachers treating each and every one of us in the class as their own children. How everyone matters to the teacher; how our problems are also their problems. They not only are our teachers, but are also like our second parents and the school is like our second home. Although everyone has gone their own pathways and moved to new “homes”, there is still some kind of attachment to the school that is…

Arriving to work on time has been very important to me in my previous job, but I was never on time, I always arrived early at least 15 minutes early every day. That way, if I was running late, I would be on time and never late to work each day. It showed my employer that I was dedicated and punctual. I always woke up early enough so that I would not have to rush when preparing breakfast and getting ready for work. The way I see it is, if you have to rush you've already set yourself up for a stressful day and by the time you get to work you're already in a bad mood. Every day I tried to always come to work with a clear head and have energy throughout the day.…

A man of experience once said that there are four good habits-punctuality, accuracy, steadiness and efficiency. Without punctuality, time is wasted; without accuracy, mistakes are made: without steadiness, nothing can be done; and without efficiency, all is lost. To this we may add the habits of prudence, discipline and contentment as being most desirable. So what are the payoffs of punctuality? Two important ones are that it is an indicator of professionalism, and it’s respectful to the other person. These are certainly important in business. Another payoff is that it is moral and ethical. As someone once said, “…
