2008 Pulitzer winner: The Washington Post had several stories covering the Virginia Tech shootings. This story is basically describing the carnage of the Virginia Tech shootings a breaking news that broke the hearts of many American’s back in 2008. This particular piece was about the violent shootings that happened in 2008 by a man that now one seemed to know, this was a man who shot and killed 13 innocent people and put many in the hospital with serious wounds. This man was described to be a man of Asian descent carried a 9mm who looked around 19, with a very serious and calm look on his face. The violence started around 7:15 A.M when a young woman and a resident adviser were shot and killed, and around 9:15 A.M the man started shooting students and faculty to the point where people were jumping out of two story building to escape the crazed gunman. This madness was to the point where this man was shooting up classrooms! One particular story was that the man barged into a German class shot the professor in the head and started shooting students! Eventually the carnage came to an end and when the cops went to confront the gunman he shot himself before the cops could get to him. This story put together by this writer was indeed a very tragic story to put together and he did it with such vivid detail, I honestly can’t think of anything I would want to change to this story it had such detail yet they spared any horrid details that might be considered as “going to far to get the story”. So in conclusion my heart goes out to the shooting victims at Virginia Tech and I hope you all have had a great learning experience reading my essay and I would like to wish you a great day!
