PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION IN
In many developing countries, the ability of its public
service would determine how fast the development
can take place.
The public service is very important in development
in any country.
Hence, the effectiveness and efficiency of the public
administrators and their organizations are
fundamental requisites for a continuous and
productive achievement of the development goals
within a nation.
Administrative Development sometimes known
as Administrative Modernization. It means :
To act effectively and efficiently
Not many skilled and experience people can be
send to rural areas to develop those areas even
though the need is greater.
Skilled and experience administrators always
being change their workplace without complete
certain assignments or projects- keep changing
portfolios for example.
Most ministries are highly centralized and lack
any serious structures to reach distant regions,
even if they have the commitment to do so.
Due to staff shortage and centralized ministries,
local level institutions are very weak.
The wide social distances between administrators
and the public grow with time and reflect
differential access to education and resources.
