Personality Theory Paper PSYCH-504 March 17, 2014 Personality Theory This Personality Theory paper will be written on The Blind Side. This movie was based on a true life story of Sean Tuohy and Leigh Anne. It begins with a Caucasian family who takes this homeless African American teenager whose name is Michael, but called Big Mike. While Michaels mom lived in a drug infested projects, he never knew who his father was. Michael had very little to no education and very limited skills to help him get ahead in society. After watching this homeless young man, Leann decides he will come and live with them and help provide him the opportunity to successful. Because of Michaels size, his expressed in interest, in football so Leigh made every effort to ensure that dream became the reality for him even giving the coach some pointers on the best way to utilize Michaels skills, and now a member of the family through adoption, he now had somewhere to call home. Because his grades were not the best, Leigh and her husband hired a tutor to assist with his grades allowing him to Michael qualifying for an NCAA Division I scholarship for athletic and he was a first round pick for Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 draft. At the age of seventeen, Michael Oher, who was very large, an uneducated black youth growing up in the projects was no longer in the drug invested environment with his mother. Michael a child in the welfare system was placed in foster care constantly running away and sleeping where ever he could because of his circumstances and environment. Coach Cotton knew he would be a value to the team just on his size alone and moves. Although quite, Michael had a childlike personality and enjoyed small children, they were afraid because of his size, but not S.J., who was the master mind of getting the videos out to football scouts.
