Psychological Related Career Psychology
There are a vast majority of psychological related careers within our society today. As I reviewed the types of careers available a large number of the careers stuck out to me. These careers are addictions counselor, advertising, correctional officer, government researcher, immigration officer, marketing, motivational researcher, program coordinator, travel agent and youth worker.
Addictions Counselor Addition counselors help addicts overcome addiction problems such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, shopping, working, and many more. As an addiction counselor you will either work with a wide variety of clients or you may specialize within one addiction or population. These individuals help businesses develop services, products, and other objects that are useful and interesting for customers. Advertising is a way to bring attention to a product and/or service and making the customer want to buy it immediately. Advertising psychologist take into consideration the thoughts and behaviors to fully understand what types of products individuals in our society want in their life. These psychologist observe thoughts, behaviors, economical status’, financial situations, age ranges, and even the town they are within in order to increase sale production for a business. Ads will be created that will have hidden messages that will stay with you, so as a buyer you will remember that item. The schooling for Advertising Psychologist is a master’s degree but can further their studies to receive their doctorate degree. The time spent for education will be between 2 to 7 years depending on the degree. The cost for education in this career will be between $20,000 to $150,000 depending on the school chosen. Advertising psychologist make approximately $69,000 per year. This job career is one of the most interesting to me because I know I would enjoy doing this in my everyday life. You will have to interview numerous individuals from the victim to the family members. While at the jail or prison, correctional psychologist make the environment safer for the staff and the inmates. The educational requirements to become a correctional psychologist is a doctoral degree and a counseling license. One must also complete a set number of internship hours. To receive full education will take between 4 to 8 years depending on the degree. The cost of schooling can be between $40,000 to $200,000 depending on the school selected. Correctional psychologist’s income, on average, is between $70,000 to $87,000. This career showed me the worker must be extremely observant and strong minded to be willing to do this
