Psy 220 Week 1 Personal Reflection

This week I was able to start working with a Dominican 15-year-old boy dealing with difficulties with emotional regulation and anger outbursts at home and school. I really felt good about being able to speak Spanish with the mother of the client who was present during the intake process. I felt a level of comfort that would take several appointments to achieve otherwise. The clients mother mentioned that I was the first Spanish provider she has worked with. Being able to speak Spanish brought a level of enthusiasm and richness to the extensive intake process.
