I have a very small group of people that I go to for advice because I usually try to figure things out on my own. One person I would always go to for advice was my high school counselor, Mr. Menchaca. He was the one who helped me figure out I want to go into a career that helps people and he was the one who helped me with what classes to take I in order to get to where I want to be. I still don’t know anyone who is in that field but I am trying to find someone who is that will help guide me to be a paramedic with knowledge and experience that they have had to obtain in order to be where they are. Once I make that friend I think everything will be much easier for me to accomplish because they can tell me what exactly they did to become a paramedic and help me out with how the interview works and so forth.

The reason I want a degree under the career I want is because the more knowledge I have related to my career the better chance I have to actually getting in that career. The entry level I would like to be in is an EMT (emergency medical technician). I will have to respond to medical calls and compose medical and activity reports. I still have yet to have met someone who is currently doing what I would like to do. It is something I want to do very soon and hopefully become friends so that he/she may give me an insight on how everything works and what happens on a daily

Inside the womb we start out as an egg, but one of the first major structures that begin to form is the brain. The brain itself is a complex structure that leaves much to be learned from it. It controls a person’s entire body function and movements whether it be walking, talking, or even going to the bathroom. What most people do not know is that there are five major structures of the brain. The first of the five is the myelencephalon ( the Medulla). The Myelencephalon (or medulla) is the posterior portion of the brain stem. Not surprisingly then, the medulla is composed largely of tracts carrying signals between the rest of the brain and the body. An interesting part of the myelencephalon from a psychological perspective is the reticular formation. It is a complex network of about 100 tiny nuclei that occupies the central core of the brain stem from the posterior boundary of the myelencephalon to the anterior boundary of the midbrain. It is so named because of its netlike appearance (reticulum means "little net"). Sometimes the reticular formation is referred to as the reticular activating system because parts of it seem to play a role in arousal. The various nuclei of the reticular formation are involved in a variety of functions, however — including sleep, attention (definitely important for language), movement, the maintenance of muscle tone, and various cardiac, circulatory, and respiratory reflexes. Accordingly, referring to this collection of nuclei as a system can be misleading. Generally, the myelencephalon does not play an important role in language production or comprehension.…

Though there are 8 different training types that have been associated with I/O psychology, not all will have the same efficacy in employee development. Some of the associated training types may have ethical or legal deficiencies that do not make them as effective in employee training as the others. For example, the use of audiovisual instruction may imply that there is legal or confidentiality issues involved with the use of these digital video instruments, according to Sampson (1983). Additionally, if the companies hiring or recruitment process is done online, then it is also possible for breach of confidential and private information to be misused if the necessary digital encryption pathways are not placed by the organization. This could be cause for legal action on the part of the affected recruits and prospective employees. On ethical level, the use of audiovisual or online instruction many thwart the ability of a prospective employee the ability to engage in their job training at full capacity as one would if there were an actual live person teaching the individual. The use of audiovisual instruction may allow for the use of shortcuts by a prospective tester. Additionally, if the trainee or prospective employee is not technologically adept to these tools, they may not succeed at their training and not get the job. A more suitable training that will overcome the deficiencies of the audiovisual and structuring would be the use of conferences. Conferences allow the trainee to become involved in lecture and study at a high level. The use of conferences allows individuals to associate and work with individuals on the same core educational techniques and receive immediate instruction if necessary. Though there are many different types of training methods and tactics, the more important thing to remember is that the according to Spector (2008), certain discrimination laws have been implemented to eliminate workplace…

The Apple iPhone did not make as big of a splash in Japan as Apple’s had hoped it would. The projection to sell a million iPhones in Japan unraveled and sales were very low. People of Japan were already aware of cell phones with a 3G network, which the faster network had been around for several years, much longer than the United States. A few problems that Japan had with the Apple iPhone were the touch screens, the iPhone were not as advanced as what they could already get in Japan, and the iPhone could not purchase train passes as the other phones did. “Emoji”, clip art that is used to create a more interesting and creative e-mail was also an application that Apple could not offer.…

Working for a big company, there is always something new to learn and new work that comes our way. There are many different personalities. We were always training and learning new material and tools to use to make our work more effective and productive. We would have meetings that were hours long so everyone can train on the new work and tools we had coming our way. Most of the people were struggling to learn the new tools. I was taking a class in which we were learning about peoples’ different learning styles. I thought all the training we were doing would be a great project for the class I was taking. I brought it to my bosses’ attention that I think that people are not learning because everyone has a different learning style. She was convinced that people were just tired and busy that’s why they could not understand the material. I wanted to test this theory. I suggested if we can give the employees on our team a learning test to see which way they better leaned. The results were exactly what I thought they were. Everyone had different learning styles. It turns out that most of the people on our team learned best Hands-On. Others were visual and the rest learned best by reading the material. This type of research method is best described as Correlation Research (positive correlation) because I was determining if two sets of variables are associated and if the variables increase or decrease. In this case when people used a learning method that fit best for them, they had better results for learning. When they were using a learning method that was not best for them, they were not learning the material. If I could have done anything different it would have been to test peoples’ personalities to determine if certain personalities learned a certain way. This would have gone more in depth as to why people learn the way they…

The agencies were chosen because they are the ideal candidates who have the ability to help individuals in our community who don’t have a program that fits their needs. These local stakeholders have experience and expertise in the prospective programs that will be utilized to serve individuals fitting the eligibility requirements. What makes this an efficient collaboration of stakeholders is the plenitude of programs which they provide, to include: behavioral health professionals, housing providers, law enforcement, social services, advocacy groups, education, probation, community based non-profits, faith based organizations, individuals impacted by the justice system and housing navigators. There are also stakeholders who would indirectly participate in the program to include: prosecutors, food service providers, defense attorneys and the court system. I am well rounded, independent, and unique. I believe that being well rounded means that you are not just one way or another. It means you have a little bit of every thing. I think that independent means for a person to be out on their own in life. It means to be able to take care of them selves in life, along with other people. I am independent not interdependent. I do not rely on others for any thing. Meaning I do not get help with bills, money, school, child, car, or any other aspect in life. Interdependent means you get help from others or depend on other to do things for you. I think that self serving bias is some thing that every one has to some degree or another. I think that it is a bias opinion that enhances or widens your ego or self esteem. For me I am self bias towards my self in the fact that I am a very vain person. I believe I am very attractive meaning my self esteem is great about how I look when others are around. Locus of control theory is where people believe that they can control events that can affect them. External locus of control is a person that believes the whole world is out to get them, luck does exist, and that life is unfair. Internal locus of control is when a person has feelings of being responsible for the outcomes that happen in their lives.…
