Proud To Be A Samoan

Lies in the Central South Pacific near the equator a small island formed by a volcano eruption years ago an island called American Samoa. An island filled with high green mountains, with a shining blue sky, and a clear blue ocean that beautify its surroundings and it is valued by its people. What a joyful place to live, to interact with beautiful people, a simple life that is slowly evolving into an advanced lifestyle.
I have wondered of how I would react with problems of my educational life if I weren’t a full blooded Samoan. Being raised in a Samoan family is a blessing to my personal life. It is their unique way of life that has been guidance for the path in the future. It is the teachings of respect that lightens up my reputation in school and communities. Many people hypothesized a Samoan life as a hard and complicated way of life. From my perspective, being a Samoan is blessing from God an island that is lush with beauty and hearts that are pure as gold.
The Samoan culture has helped me in variety of ways. My professional way of greeting, speaking, walking, and sitting comes from this amazing way of lifestyle. People have appreciated my glorify personalities and characteristics that were build from my Samoan family. The Samoan culture has useful tools of preparing my young life to handle challenges and difficult situation professionally. The Samoan culture consist handling my responsibilities with honesty, being mindful of my relationship with the elders and improves my actions showed in school and everyday activities. I believe that the Samoan culture was created uniquely for my generations to live a better life.
Throughout the world, we are known for our hospitality and our way of respect. Respect is very powerful and important word in my life as a Samoan.
