Prostitution is and has been illegal for a reason; it should be kept that way. They are an eyesore to corners of the streets, it promotes the spread of STDs, dilutes the importance of sex and women. The nuisance of creating a new law system and keeping up with the regulations isn’t worth legalizing it. Prostitutes around the neighborhood are an eyesore and makes the area undesirable. There are women sexually harassing men walking down the street, dressing and acting provocatively. (Keep Prostitution Criminal, http://www.christianaction.org.za/articles/keepprostitutioncriminal.htm). Prostitutes also may bring unwelcome elements such as drugs, drug dealers and pimps. Any combination, or even just one of these groups is liable to create an unsafe environment. The argument that there would be health clinics to ensure the safety and optimal health for legal prostitutes is by no means reliable. STDs can take up to six months to show on a screening; we can reasonably assume that prostitutes will not wait six months after every screening before serving another client for money. Also, even if prostitution becomes legal, there will still be prostitutes who will work “under the table” so that they don’t have to deal with losing money due to taxes. Therefore we will not gain as much economical benefit, nor can we depend on diseases not being spread. If it were to become legal, there would be much more demand for prostitution than there is now, and that alone is risky for the medical welfare of all sexual participants. By legalizing prostitution, sex and women will be downgraded in society. People, including children, have already been desensitized to sex. It isn’t viewed as a personal, sacred act of affection anymore by most people. “As a society we will become immune to the graphicness of sexual images thrown in our faces on a daily basis.” (Keeping Prostitution Illegal,
Prostitution: Should it be legal?
Today in our society there is several controversial discussions that seem to be legalized or accepted by people. These discussions take into account, personal choices and the importance of morality in society. One of these discussions is prostitution. Prostitution in a broad aspect, is comparatively undiscriminating sexual exchange to gain material advantages. It is defined in " an act or practice of engaging in sexual acts for money" ( Macmillan 805),or “the practice….
the world; however, the Canadian prostitution laws fails to show these Canadian distinctions as the laws show an antiquated view of the issue of prostitution. Prostitution has long been called “the world’s oldest profession.”(“Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia” http://en.wikipedia.org/) For as long as two thousands year ago, evidence can be found of males and females selling sex as a business (“Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia” http://en.wikipedia.org/). Prostitution is no different than any other service….
Prostitution has been called the world’s oldest profession, so it’s safe to say it’s not going away anytime soon. As of right now, Nevada is the only state which has legalized prostitution. In the rest of the United States, however, the social problems experienced under the current laws prohibiting prostitution include transmission of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), excessive amounts spent on prosecuting offenders, and the risks involved for women working alone on the streets….
Why should prostitution be legal?
Can anybody tell me what is considered to be the world's most ancient profession? (doesn't require education, mostly involves women)
Some researchers confirm that prostitution is indeed the most ancient profession, while others argue with it; however, everybody agrees that trading sex for money has existed for quite a while. According to Wikipedia, prostitution began in the 21st century BC in Near East, most likely as a religious custom, and was practiced by Greeks….
As the Danish government reopens the prostitution debate, there must be many recommendations on how to handle the act of selling sex. The act of selling sex, also known as prostitution, is noted to be one of the world's oldest profession, dating back to Ancient Rome. However, it has evolved into a multi-million dollar industry, even though it is illegal in the majority of the world. The Danish government should highly consider keeping prostitution legal because it would allow the government to collect….
Prostitution has long been considered as illegal. But is it necessary to do so?
<br>It is said that prostitution causes inconvenience and troubles to general public. However, the act that considers prostitution as illegal causes inconvenience and troubles to prostitutes either. Does general public has the right to live without prostitution nearby, which will prevent prostitutes from making money with their 'resources', or do prostitutes have the right to make money with their 'resources', which….

Should prostitution be legalized? There are many reasons why prostitution should be legalized because it will have many positive effects. Legalizing prostitution would reduce crime, improve public health, increase tax revenue, help people out of poverty, get prostitutes off the streets, and allow adults to make their own choices. People say that prostitution is a victimless crime, especially in the 11 Nevada counties where it remains legal. There are ways that prostitution can be fixed to help the….
Prostitution should be legalized
Prostitution was estimated to date back to at least 2400 B.C, along with doctor, scribe, barber and cook (Little known facts in the prostitution debate, n.d.). Despite this length of service, whether sex industry should be legalized or not is still a controversial issue that takes a lot of time to find the best decision. In my opinion prostitution should be legalized for a better prostitutes’ working condition, for a lower sexually transmitted diseases rates….
Prostitution is a world wide controversial matter that has been around for many years. Prostitution itself is an old profession, but what about it leads to controversial arguments and opposing view points from our society? The idea that prostitution poses of selling one's body in exchange for money has had a negative impact in our society since it was first introduced into our presence.
