Dweck argues that growth mindsets are individuals who love challenges and are not afraid of failures, they believe in their learned abilities over talents. On the other hand, fixed mindset people focus on the results only. By writing a daily/weekly/monthly to do list will help organise and remind you of what needs to be done for whom and by when. No one’s memory is perfect and when under stress with competing demands, it is conceivable to forget things. The list will help you set out your time in priority order and organise consecutive activities so you are utilising your abilities to the highest advantage. I would prefer to do the things I really enjoy rather than the things that are important. I sometimes use these things to make excuses for not the things that I should be doing. I tend to give more importance to these things at any given time of the day, it makes prioritizing these activities that much harder. I always believed doing the easy tasks first and getting them done then proceeding to complete the harder tasks last. My problem is I get easily distracted with my zappers. Having taking this GS 1145 class has shown me how to reconstruct and use my time wisely. By using a To Do List will help improve me with using my time wisely. This will motivate me to list my easy and hard things to do so I can complete in a timely manner. In contrast with the Self-Assessment, I consider myself to be more of a morning person, so getting started on these tasks soon after I wake every morning would ensure successful completion. Also limiting contact with others while working on these tasks would eliminate the temptation to enjoy my zappers. I also need to set aside certain days of the week to complete these tasks as well. Now that I have a plan, I plan to implement it a soon as possible in hopes that my school work gets done and still have time for my zappers.…

In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…
