Pros And Cons Of Turn Signals
USE TURN SIGNALS JERK!!!!!!! Has there ever been that one thing that drives someone insane and has no power over something to change it? Or have that annoying noise that constantly pops up and never goes away?Like an itch that can never be found, or being stuck behind someone going slow in the fast lane and they will not to let others pass. Or someone is smacking his or her gum in your face really loudly. The biggest pet peeve that others might have is that people don’t use turn signals to indicate where they are going, or to help prevent the cause of accidents on the highway. Not using turn signals can sometimes cause accidents, can injury to person driving, or just really aggravate the other driver. Using turn signals is a great way to let others behind the …show more content…
This helps prevent people moving into the same lane as the person in next lane. In rare occasions, people decide to move into the same lane at the same time as someone else, which nearly causes an accident. Because of this, someone has to make the split decision to move back over and allow the other driver to have the lane. Then the other person trying to move over can get behind them and continue driving. The hardest thing to do without using a turn signal is merging onto the highway and not causing an accident. Eighteen-wheelers are the worst about speeding up or moving out the way, which causes others to slow way down. Slowing down onto the highway is extremely dangerous because everyone coming up behind the driver is going at least sixty-five to seventy miles per hour. Using turn signals will ensure safety and allow others to be comfortable while driving short or long distances. Moving from lane to lane is very nerve racking and that it takes timing to decide whether to move over or not. Moving from lane to lane has to be made in a split decision and have no hesitation of doing

When you speed, you have less time to react to unexpected situations. Other drivers have less time to react to your situation. With that being said, you can easily harm someone or yourself if not kill them by not watching your surroundings. Because like stated before, you not only have little time to react at the normal speed of traffic; but now you are speeding which takes away from the normal time, in return gives you minimal to NO time to react at all.…

A problem that I think needs to be solved is traffic lights causing the back up of traffic. Traffic lights cause a delay in traffic and cause for traffic back up. It causes everyone to be late when there is no need for it. From personal experience I have been late of several occasions due to backed up traffic because of traffic lights. There are certain spots where traffic lights are not needed and they are only backing up traffic more than needed. Traffic lights turn red even when there is no traffic at the other end of the light. Traffic lights also cause a lot of accidents, such as someone running a red light, etc.…

There have been major accidents throughout the United States that have produced over 100,000 crashes and roughly 1,000 deaths in the past. In 1979 Ken Fishel was at the intersection of 436 and highway 50 when a woman ran a red light causing him to T-Bone the passenger side of her vehicle. Ken ended up with serious injuries consisting of whip lash and a mild concussion to the head. While the women escaped the accident with minor injuries this could been easily prevented (interview). To combat this problem the United States has placed Red light cameras at certain intersections across the states. Safety should always be the top priority on the road, and one way of limiting car accidents is for everyone to make sure they always stop at a red light. Since these cameras have been in place accidents and death tolls have decreased tremendously. The government should continue the use of red light cameras at intersections throughout the United States.…

    Entitlement While Driving

When I am driving, one of my biggest pet peeves is listening to someone blow the car horn because someone else is essentially not traveling fast enough. Have you ever been at stop light that turned green, and the first car does not move? What makes this situation even worse, is when a driver three or four cars back blows their horn. Why does the fourth car back feel entitled to be the hurry-up police? It does not make sense to me, that someone not immediately impacted by the delay feels the need to beep his or her horn. The patients shown by the first three cars must not be contagious enough.…

    Intersection

Intersections have traffic going through them all of the time. I pass through eight intersections on my way to school. One of the main intersections that I pass through going almost anywhere is the intersection of Fairbanks Road and Highway 139. This intersection is a very busy one. Any traffic going towards the Bastrop area or coming towards the Swartz area from the Bastrop area have to pass through this intersection. Because the Intersection has nothing but a caution light, people go through there going faster than they should. This in return has caused twenty-nine wrecks within the past year. People may think that that is not a lot of wrecks for a year, but take into a count that fifty-five percent of these wrecks were fatal. To make this intersection a safer place to travel for the community I propose that we do one of three things. My first proposal is that, as a community, we petition the Louisiana State Department of Transportation to put a timed red light at this intersection. An alternate, but still effective means of traffic control would be to put in a four way stop at this intersection. Finally, a reduction of speed limited around the intersection to about twenty or thirty miles per hour would reduce the chance for serve traffic accidents, according to the statistics.…

How many times while driving down the interstate, does the familiar sound of tires running off the road catch your attention, just to look over and see the driver talking or texting on the phone while jerking on their steering wheel to keep from running off the road. Looking in the rear view mirror, you notice someone tailgating you so close you think you are in a NASCAR race, while they pass, you cannot help but notice that they are on the phone texting and swerving sometimes inside their lane, but most of the time from lane to lane. Once while driving down the road, I noticed a woman not only texting while driving but also reaching behind her doing something with her child in the seat behind her. I had to wonder is her life and that of her child worth the text that she…

Firstly, car repairs can be a costly expense when owning a motor vehicle. While the upkeep of a vehicle is the biggest responsibility when owning one, it is often the most over shadowed. Broken tail lights are one of most common failures of inconsiderate drivers. Tail lights are supposed to provide illumination for follow drivers on the road. Without such lighting and display it can be very hair to see a car in a pitch black environment. Thousands of auto accidents happen every year because of improper turn signals. Improper turn signals have a big impact on other drivers on the road. It can be the small thing that results in the very high car repair bill. The simple oversight of not looking before making a smooth turn can be the result in a personal injury or a traumatic death. Headlights are an effective way of communication between cars. Many drivers flash headlights to let the other driver know that they have the right away. Without having this form of communication it impairs many drivers from operating a motor vehicle at night.…

Without these, people would be more at risk for collisions that could cause bodily harm to themselves or others. This is the main point as to why police, and the government are to enforce those speed limits in order to maintain things like collisions from happening and to keep the community safe. So if you look at it from both sides, you will see that by having speed limits in your area, it not only gives you the driver the piece of mind and security knowing you have those limitations, but it also allows our government to have more control over our…

Traffic control establishes a set of rules and regulations that people rely on to help avoid collisions and other hazards. With almost 160 million motorists and 3.8 million miles of public roads in the United States, traffic control on the highways is an important aspect of daily life. Without the control of speed there would be more fatalities than we already have now. Speed limits should be obeyed. A motorist going too slow could cause an accident. When everyone is traveling at the speed limit, a car comes up going 40 mph; if you break everyone will, too, perhaps causing a collision. Motorists depend on traffic control to avoid collisions and travel safely to their destination.…

Do other drivers piss you off? In my experience, there are three kinds of drivers in this world; the inconsistent driver, the over cautious driver, and the alert Driver. There is the inconsistent driver, this type of driver can seem to be fairly unpredictable on the road, with their tailgating and speeding, this person is the most hazardous to themselves and other travelers. Then there is the over cautious driver, who is just as easy to spot as the inconsistent driver. They are normally going under the speed limit or close to it, this type of driver will slow up traffic, and in highly congested areas, they can be a hazard on the road from hesitating and not flowing well with the traffic. Finally, there is the alert driver, this type of driving style consists of paying attention to the surroundings, such as weather, potholes, and other traffic.…
