Pros And Cons Of Life Cycle Analysis
The following essay will describe the life cycle analysis (LCA) and how it can be used as a tool in a P2 continuous improvement strategy. According to Cheremisinoff (2001, p 137) LCA is a "mean to identify and evaluate environmental consequences and impacts. LCA is a procedure to identify and evaluate cradle to grave natural resource requirements and environmental releases associated with process." The LCA process is used to evaluate and provide clarity in how to reduce and prevent waste pollution. Therefore, the process can be used by the acquisition staff, new product design staff, and staff involved in investment evaluations to determine the pro and cons of the product and to make improvements.
